Detroit anyone?

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy. I grabbed a terrific SWA DING to Detroit yesterday and now I am going to do the Detroit Half Marathon on Oct 21st. This is the course that crosses over into Canada, follows the river for a couple of miles, and then crosses back into Detroit. How cool is that?

I was a little concerned about doing a half the week before ToT until I realized that my MfM schedule for the WDW full calls for 10 miles that weekend anyway.....so I will be sure to get my steps in AND I will hopefully be getting a cool medal AND adding another state that I've done a half in.

The very bestest thing - Carrie and Scott will be there too

Carrie & Scott are doing the Detroit race too?

Sadly I'm not signed up for it. Susan is scheduled to be out of town that weekend and it's the weekend before ToT so I passed. I'm also suppose to do a long day that weekend which means DH will be tagging along on foot and bike to keep up LOL

When do you fly in?

When are you all going to the Expo? I had thought to stop in for the expo if for nothing else than to shop LOL

Pat - At this rate, you are going to have all your states done in a couple of years!!!!! I didn't know Carrie and Scott were going to be there? Hmmm, Detroit is only about a 9-10 hour drive. But DH would kill me and so would my job!!!!!

Any chance of catching a SWA DING?? I am flying into Detroit on Sat and home on Sun, so it will definitely be a quick trip!! The whole crossing over into Canada and back just sounds so cool! And wow....you could be an international half-marathoner!!


ETA: Plus, are you following the MfM plan for the full in Jan? If so, you should be doing 10 miles that weekend anyway, so this is an easy way to get the steps in!!

Carrie and Scott had been waivering on this until Pat said she was coming. So, we're in!

Pat what a fun event! I would love to do it, but we are on vaca anticipating ToT we're down thataway.

I'm trying to figure my random running route for the miles around the WDW sidewalks.
