My family is debating what type of AP to get for the upcoming year. We are going to be at WDW for 3 weeks starting June 14. The kicker is that we are also planning on going to DL in August.
When determining the best value, do you determine the actual price of the tickets vs. price of AP/Premier or do you take into account the discounted price of the AP vs. upgrading tot he Premier?
If we take into account the price of the actual tickets and not the discounted DVC AP price, we only need to go to DL once to make a Premier price the better value. On the other hand, if we use the DVC AP price, we need to go to DL a couple times. We may still do that, but that is more up in the air at this time.
Thanks!

I only briefly looked at it but it seemed like you needed to have justification for purchasing the Premium pass at both WDW and DL for that to make sense. Or at least one premium pass in the pot. And that would mean you want to go to the water parks at WDW or have no blackouts at DL. If neither of those are desired and regular AP's work then last I looked the Premier is not justifiable based purely on $$$$$'s.
