Once upon a time there was a park called Disney-MGM studios where the Chinese Theater was the park's landmark and there was no BAH blocking its beauty. Ah yes, the good old days, life was simpler then.

From Wednesday at Epcot - first day of Flower and Garden Festival.

That's because those portraits used to be on the ride, as you rode through the hallway. They used to have eyes that followed you. They moved some of the paintings to the load area, and left some of them in the hallway, but changed the hallway. They added "windows" to one side of the hallway (which is why they moved the paintings from there). The lighting flashes in the windows and the paintings that are left on the other side of the hallway change with the lightning flashes. This effect has been used for years at Disneyland and was just added during the WDW HM rehab last year.

Thanks for the info, La2kw. The improvements to HM are awesome, aren't they??? I've seen the hallway portraits but miss Scary Starfish Guy. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

LOL! Not at all. I used to be one of those who took the mundane touristy photos at WDW )not that there is anything wrong with that) until I started reading these boards. Now I'm one of those odd camera toting folks who other guests stare at, shake their heads and wonder what the heck I am photographing.

We are a strange breed all right.

Never noticed it...I ALWAYS sit on the opposite side of the boat...Too cool...Nice shot...

P.S. You are one of my Favourite photographers on the DIS. I really enjoy your work. If I ever win the lottery, I am going to send out and invitation to all my favs here on the DIS and do a Photo Meet at WDW and it will be on me. I am sure that I could learn a lot...I bought my ticket...
