Castaway Club experts-- checking into get people's opinions on whether/when we will know for certain that Destiny is going to make it on schedule for the MV. We are actually not on the MV but booked in the first month of sailings and, after getting burned with an Adventure cancellation in January, wondering if we are safe to assume it will sail on time or if there's still a significant chance that it could get delayed.

I know nothing in this life is certain and that some freak accident could delay it, but since it's the same class as Wish and Treasure, I am hoping the launch is smoother. Are we already past the point where we can cancel our back-up Disney World stay or should I hold onto it a bit longer?

They have quite a few preview cruises coming up before the maiden and they look to be set. I haven't heard of any of them canceling, so I would assume you're good.
Awesome, thanks. This will be our first time trying to sail within the first several cruises and I don't want to end up stranded in Fort Lauderdale booking a hotel last minute.

I’m sailing in December and I’m not worried. This is the third Wish class ship, the Treasure was delivered on time, and the maiden was originally around a month before the Adventure maiden. I think we’d know by now if there was going to be a delay.

When was the last time a Madien Voyage was actually the ships first sailing?

Those stranded passengers that recently got picked up on the Atlantic crossing could claim the maiden voyage! haha

When do the preview cruises start? I’m excited to start hearing more about the ship! We sail February.
The Disney Cruise Line Blog is reporting the following preview cruises:
11/4 - 4-Night Preview Cruise out of Port Canaveral.
11/10 - 3-Night Christening Cruise out of Port Everglades.
11/13 - 3-Night Preview Cruise out of Port Everglades.

We were booked on one of the Wish voyages that was canceled due to the delay of that ship and they told us months ahead of time of the cancellation, so, unless something very unexpected happens (which could really happen with any ship), you are probably good to go. They also offered us 50% off a future sailing which we used toward an amazing stateroom on an 11-night Dream cruise in Europe so I cannot complain at all about the outcome of that situation!

I would imagine the adventure was canceled and delayed because the retrofitting a ship that is not like any of their others and they're probably having some issues. Granted, that doesn't make it any easier when they cancel but Disney's been around the block with the Triton class a couple of times. I don't think they're going to have any problems.
