Has anyone done this lately? I read that you received a VIP pass to Illuminations on night of your tour. Just wondering if anyone has done this recently and if that is still part of the tour.

Thanks!

No clue, but I'm interested in knowing this too! I'm trying to convince my husband to do this tour on our upcoming kid-free trip. He would like to do Backstage Magic, but I'm choking on the price and amount of time it takes. If we can get a good Illuminations spot out of the deal, that might sell him on it.

I took the tour in early March and yes it included a VIP viewing area in Italy for Illuminations. Of the 9 people on the tour that day, only 2 of us actually showed up to watch the fireworks.

No. For that experience, you need to do the Backstage Magic tour (which I also went on. It was great)

Bummer, got my tours mixed up. Well at least we have lunch at Rose and Crown.... right?
Were there any back stage areas the tour(Destinations) goes to?

The World Showcase tour?
Sort of. You get to see where they store the Illumination floats.
And our tour guide took us inside the Private Showcase pavilion that is behind/between UK/Canada. He made it sound like this was a big secret/no-no that he was doing. Our tour was just me and DH and 1 other lady so it was a small group. I'm not sure if that was really an area where he wasn't supposed to take us or not. So happens to be the same place Dis held their 20th anniversary party back in June too. It's a really nice facility so it was pretty neat to see it.
I can't think of any other off stage areas we went through

We did the DestiNations Discovered tour on Labor Day (September 4th). We did get IllumiNations VIP viewing, and it was wonderful! There were seven of us on our tour, and my daughter and I were the only two that showed up from that. There were others in the VIP viewing area, but not many.

Lunch was at Rose and Crown.

I'm trying to remember where we went backstage. We went and saw the barges for IllumiNations, and we saw the full Eiffel Tower. I feel like we walked a couple of other places, but there wasn't anything too exciting. We also rode Soarin' as a group through the FastPass+ line, and she made sure we were in the middle section, front row.
