Hey guys! Well on top of planning a wedding, I have to complete my 4th Year Tourism Honours Thesis starting in September. I am thinking about conducting surveys/interviews to help determine the factors that make couples choose destination weddings and the type of tourists these couples are. It will still be a couple months, but I am curious about whether or not anyone would be willing to participate. My fiance and I are going to visit Disney in November and possibly interview our EM if they have time, but I was just curious about the actual couples. By the way, if you answer that you would be interested, that doesn't mean you are bound to participate! Thanks in advance and happy planning! :cool1: :earsgirl:

Hi
We would participate but we are from the UK. Don't know if that effects anything?

For Disney, anyone who is not from Orlando would work. As long as you can consider your wedding a destination wedding. Thanks again, just a remindered that I probably won't even start surveying until November 2005, and it doesn't matter if you are a future or post bride. Thanks again!

that should be an interesting paper tinkerbelle14 and we would be happy to participate. we're having our custom wdw dw at the yacht club.

We would be happy to participate too!

We'll participate too:) But I would like a copy of the paper when you are done please!

Thanks everyone for answering. This was just to see if there was an interest in participating. I am just finishing up my 3rd year right now and will be submitting a proposal by the end of April. However, I can not start any research until my thesis topic and research method has been approved by the Ethics Board at my university which will probably happen in September 2005. Codie, I would be happy to send you a copy once I am done (or I should say we, since the department is short of professors next year, they are allowing us to do our thesis with a partner, if we want, and it just so happens my fiance is in the same program so we will both be working on it! :cool1: ), but keep in mind that it will be 100 pages long, so I would probably send it as a Word file attachment in an e-mail sometime in April 2006! Thanks again! Let me know if anyone has an suggestions or comments!

I would love to help you out on your paper.

We'd be happy to participate! :)

My DH and I also would love to help you out!! Good luck with all the approvals! Hope they all agree that its a great topic!

Wow, we honestly appreciate this so much! We were a little worried about whether or not we would be able to find anyone to participate, but this is just an amazing turn out! I'm glad we have people like all of you to help us with planning our wedding and now we our thesis. I don't think I will ever be able to thank you enough! We have actually been able to decide to change our thesis topic from being just about general destination weddings to Destination Weddings: A Walt Disney World Case Study, so thank you all for that! I will write down all of your names and private message you in September - October and also post a new message to see if anyone else is interested, but don't worry, you can back out at anytime. Thank you again and good luck to everyone with their wedding plans or anything else that is going on! Feel free to message me anytime if you have any questions. :cool1:

Thanks again everyone. I noticed that there are a few couples from England and from Canada, along with the States, so this is perfect!
