Destination D - Who's going?

I've had my room at the DLH for months now...

I just wish I knew about the Scavenger Hunt back then. I am to check-out on Saturday and am bummed I can't get my rocking rate for that night now.

Hojo's here I come. Again. :rotfl:

Since we're only about two weeks away, I thought we needed a thread like this at the top of the boards so I thought I'd create one, but found this one that has already been started!

So to get us all SUPER excited:

1) What is the presentation that you are most looking forward to? Do you plan on attending all of them?

Who is organizing the meet? :confused3

I'm unfortunately not going to any of the Destination D events, but I'll be there that weekend and have been trying to arrange a meet up in the September Check in thread ;) But other than that I dunno.

We are going.. staying @ GC. We get in on Wed and leave Monday. Trying to plan some activities and meals. I was wishing D23 would post or email a full schedule. When we did the D23 Christmas event @ WDW they provided some meals. I don't know whether to make ressies or not. I also wish I knew if they were going to do WOC as part of the event. Anyone know?

I don't think they will include WOC. Friday night is the concert and Saturday night they're showing Disneyland USA.

I too wish they would post some times, they updated the site today, but still with no times. It seems that they lost some performers from the Friday night show because there was a guy from NCIS:LA who was going to be in the show, but he's not listed now.

We booked a 1BR at the VGC as soon as the email about Destination-D came out we called up and they had F&S nights and we waitlisted for Th which came through within about a week. So we have a full kitchen and I think that will work out great!

We are locals and have booked a dinner Monday (9/20) for our Anniversary with my folks at Napa Rose, Tuesday we have our normal concert band rehearsal in Holllywood (drive thru) and Wednesday we have an Octoberfest Party out at DL, so by Thursday when we check in we will be looking forward to a home cooked meal.

I have everything ready to make a meatloaf that I will freeze as soon as I throw all the components together and Thursday night when we check in we'll have a nice home cooked meal. Meatloaf, baked potatoes & green beans. I plan on bringing some other staples like cereal, bread, a Costco chicken and stuff like that so we can have the option of making sandwiches and stuff in the room or catching a meal at DTD. Since my DP suffers from RA we never know if we can make the whole day or have to take a break until the time comes. If we don't eat it while we're at the VGC, we can always finish it off at home!

We did pass on the scavenger hunt knowing about how DP gets tired, but we're going to Goofy's Kitchen that morning. Since purchasing DVC we have started to enjoy a lot more of the resort amenities than we ever did just being locals. I'm loving it!

Other than that, we hope to be at all the seminars with sandwiches in tow, and catching meals as we go at the various DTD offerings, but as a PP has said I wish I knew if we could make any PS at some of the restaurants and have an idea of when breaks were or shows that we might not be as inclined to catch!

I hope that everyone with a ticket gets into every show!

I will be there as well with my Disney buddy/best friend. I talked her into staying at the DLH so hope all the construction stuff doesn't drive her nuts (she has been semi boycotting ((as much as a Disney fan can do)) the parks since she hates all the construction walls). We did the Expo last year and will do Destination D this year and Expo next year. I have an old friend and her family who are just by happenstance going to be at the resort during the same time frame, so would like to be able to meet up with her either in the morning or on a lunch break, so also wish they would post a definative schedule. All the presentations look great! The Imagineer one sounds very similar to the Expo panel they did, but since it's focused on Disneyland I'm sure it will be different. Bob Gurr is my favorite Imagineer! What a hoot.
I also wondered if they might throw in a WOC viewing as a surprise, so we'll wait and see.
We're arriving Thursday and have reservations at WCT for the WOC package. We'll do the Scavenger Hunt which I am sure I will suck at, then come home (booooo) on Monday.

If you don't mind my asking, what day are you doing Goofy's? And is it a scheduled meet, or just something you are planning.

Curious because we are planning GK on Sunday morning at 10. But if it is a scheduled meet time, we may think about rescheduling.:)

We are just going because we have never been and want to try it. We've got a 10:30 PS on Sunday morning.

FYI the Destination D schedule has been sent to attendees via email. I think the only things that have been added are a presentation on Star Tours and sneak peak at 2011 expo.

What day was it sent? I wasn't the D23 member when we registered, so it wasn't my email address that was used...I'm a member now because I had to be to register for the Premier Pass for the Expo.

Yes..it's the same thing posted above. Did it go to your spam?? I got mine yesterday afternoon as well. It isn't posted on the site (or wasn't yesterday), but hopefully they will post it.
