Tracy - I've been thinking about the "issues" you guys had at the last D23 event... Is there anyone involved with the D23 event who you can speak with before you head down? Fill them in a little on your last experience & give them a few suggestions to make things easier for you & Bill?? Just a thought... I'd hate for you to have to go through that again if it's avoidable. You are paying a lot of money & should be able to experience the event like everyone else.

I have emailed the D23 team with questions and comments already. Just waiting to see if I get a reply . The good thing about this event is it is all being held at the Contemporary Resort. No worries about transportation or weather . We debated a lot before deciding to do this.

Hi Tracy. I'm looking forward to another report. Can't wait to hear the details. I was there in May last year and loved it. My mom didn't, there's no accounting for some peoples tastes. I almost went down this year around the same time as you would be there but it would have been a solo trip and I wasn't up for that.

We are going to T-Rex for the first time in August. I can't wait to see how you and Bill liked it.

I forgot to post a picture of us. For anyone that doesn’t know us, I am what the DIS calls “pooh sized” or in my case “super pooh sized”. I don’t like having pictures taken of myself, I like to say I am allergic to cameras. I am working on taking better care of myself, it took a long time to put on the weight and it will take a long time to get rid of it. Here is a picture of us:

We are on the right, I had to include this picture because it had Oregonmommy/daddyof2 in it. We met them in WDW in December and just love them. We hope to meet up with them in 2012 in WDW .

I didn’t mention our sweet baby that we leave every trip either, where was my head ? Hmmm maybe freaking out because we are leaving in about 6 weeks. Introducing the love of our lives… Ace:

Another thing you might not know about us is that we change plans… a lot. I now introduce change # 1. The quick service plan that was booked has been scrapped for the regular dining plan. Bill is a table service kinda guy, I thought with the trip only being six days and two of those being Destination D days we would have more flexibility with the quick plan. That lasted about 36 hours, then Bill started saying he wanted table service meals. I stated if that was going to happen I wanted to go to a park the first night. There was back and forth talk, the park would happen if I promised T-Rex during the December trip, then I got online and started to see what restaurants were available 46 days from our trip.

Here is the start of our plans:

We will fly down to MCO Wednesday grabbing some lunch at Chick-fil-A in the airport, then take the Magical Express to Pop. The room should be ready by the time we get there, we will get settled then hop a bus to Magic Kingdom. We didn’t get to see Wishes in December, it was just too cold for us so this was my reasoning for a park on the first night. We have annual passes so the tickets aren’t an issue.

Magic Kingdom is lacking a great table service restaurant in our opinion. Liberty Tree Tavern was available, we booked it, but it annoyed us. We loved it when the characters were there, such great interactions, Minnie LOVED kissing Bill:

Such good times, I wish MK would bring the characters back but I know that isn’t going to happen. We will do some stuff in the park, have dinner then watch the beloved Wishes. I will take pictures (like I don’t have enough) and cry (like I do every time). The castle and Wishes are Walt Disney World to me, so beautiful, so hopeful, so amazing. It always warms my heart. We will hang out in the park for a bit while people fight each other to get to the busses, then go back to Pop Century.

I found your PTR and decided to start reading your older PTR's to learn more about you and Bill. I got through about 12 pages but with four kids I will have to get back to it when the kiddies are all in bed and then it is time to read.

First of all I glad to meet a fellow residents of Illinois. Where are you about located in Illinois, we are in far Northern Illinois by Great America.

Second just reading the little bit I have in your first PTR I applaud you for being such a great advocate for the disabled. I worked with Glenkirk for over 11 years (stoped this last year due to premature baby) and have a soft spot for the developmentaly disabled. I can honestly say that I call some of the guys I workded some of my closest friends and they truely made coming to work a joy.

Looking foward to reading more of this trip and catching up with the others. Oh and almost forgot. . . Me and my eldest son are going at the end of the month and I just made ressies for T-Rex for June 2nd. I am supper excited.

We are in Southern Illinois. Bill has really opened my eyes when it comes to disabilities. As he says he doesn't want preferential treatment just equal access. Disney is amazing when it comes to accessibility.

Have fun at T-Rex!!! We will get there some day .

We have enjoyed Tony's but we are easy to please.

But I do see I timed those trivia questions now just perfectly for you about the Sherman Brothers.

that's great you're going back before November when they have actual temperatures in Disney, I pray you don't get another frigid week like the last time.

If the D 23 is mainly about Disney historical seminars and stuff, I'd probably not like it: we were there for the 25th anniversary dedication at Epcot in 07 and it was all I could do to stay awake when Marty Sklar kept giving his speech.
But hope you have a good time, DIsney owes you some great pool time when the sun is actually working!

D23 is the only "Official Fan Club" of Disney fans. When you join you purchase a one year subscription, in our case we bought the Gold one. The Gold one included 4 issues of the D23 magazine (it is gorgeous and has fantastic articles), a membership card and certificate, subscription to a bi-weekly D23 FanFare e-newsletter, and special promotional offers and discounts throughout the year. You also have access to special member events like Magic and Merriment that we went to in December and Destination D in May. They are also having a D23 Expo in August in Anaheim, CA.

I will say, we don't have "pool time". With Bill's disability, my overweightness (made up a new word ), and the fact that the Florida sun would FRY me we don't hang out at the pool. I see it as leaving more room for you and Smidgy .
