Looking for a really reasonable (translate as cheap as possible please) accommodations for DD and DBF in Destin or nearby. They are going to a friend's wedding, and we have not found anything in their price range yet.
Of course we don't want Motel 6 and bed bug bunkhouse. It is July 24, so busy season, and I guess we are late looking?
PLEASE, any help you can give would surely be appreciated. They originally thought they would spend the week there, July 18-25, but that is looking out of budget range.
Thanks in advance for your help.

There are some adorable beach houses at Miramar Beach - 1 and 2 bedrooms. They are not directly on the beach but the price is great! Can't think of the name, but they are down the street from Pompano Joe's.

Try looking in Ft Walton Beach as well. If they'll have a car, it's just a short drive to Destin. Is the wedding in Destin or near Destin?

I know a condo but it is weekly only during that time. Have you checked Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn?

The wedding is in Destin. Yes, we are looking in the entire Destin area. They don't really want to have to stay as far away as Pensacola or Panama City, but can if need be.

They really want t stay a week, if they can.
I think Holiday Inn is more than their budget. They had hoped for a week vacation rental, but don't know how to find one.

I would check Niceville too. They would be 20-30 min from Destin and the beach, but that would help the cost. If you aren't right on the beach in Destin, you still are always close to the water. Do they have any rooms reserved for the wedding guests?

Niceville, Ft. Walton, Mary Esther, and Sandestin will put them 20-30 minutes from Destin.

Also I don't know how old your DD is, but a lot of the places here have a minimum age to book a room.

My DH's grandparents own at Sanpiper Cove resort. The resort also does weekly/daily rentals. From the website it looks as though a studio rents during peek season for a little less than $700 for a week. We stay at their condo for a week during the summer and it is conveniently located off the main road right across from Target. Lots of places to eat fairly close and easy to get to. They have beach access units available but the grandparents unit is across the road. It took us 10 to 15 minutes to get from the condo and set up on the beach but we have little ones;) you can also drive and park at the beach access condos. They also rent larger units if she can find multiple friends that want to go in together.

If they are going to be staying anywhere that isn't close by to the venue and will be there for about a week - have them check out the traffic. Driving on the strip can sometimes take a lot longer than you expect. Depends on the night and time.

During the summer - traffic is so much more so make sure they sort of plan accordingly.
