We are on the free dining plan in September. If we are too full (more than likely) to eat our dessert; are we allowed to have it "to go" for later?

Hello, When we were there last year for free dining, we were able to take the counter service dessert (such as ice cream sundaes from the ASMo food court), and pastries (from CSR), with us to our room. I cannot honestly answer for full service meals. We mostly ate at the buffets as we were travelling with a 2 year old who otherwise would have had to "eat off our plates." Buffets are all you can eat and do not have take away cartons. I can say though, that 2 years ago, my mom and I ate at the Brown Derby (not on free dining) with DGS then 2 years old. We were able to take our dessert with us in a take away carton. Hope this helps. There will likely be more responses to your post from people who have done this during free dining. I am going again this year during that time. Staying at Pop 9/10-9/20 Have a wonderful time.

I'm sure the servers will get it for you to go and I would bet they would even suggest to take it to go if you turned down the dessert. The higher the amount on the check the bigger the tip don't forget.

Not at the buffets, but everywhere else you can get to-go boxes...but remember, it you're not going directly back to your hotel whatever you take has to be able to withstand heat & humidity...not many desserts can do that!

Your right yuck!! and who would want to be carrying that with them. Most desserts are not that large anyway so we always eat them at the restaurant.

This has nothing to do with TS. When we ate at the food court at ASmovies during FDP in 2006 they stamped our receipt and we were able to come back later in the day for dessert. We came back later in th evening and got yummy sundaes from the ice cream bar. :goodvibes

I thought that the only way to get your dessert later was at the food courts at the resorts, and that was only for ice cream (they do stamp your receipt), but they only give you like 30 minutes from purchase. I heard this is because people complained their ice cream melted while they ate their dinner.

Last year, I specifically remember being told that there is no way to "convert" the dessert you get with your TS or CS to a snack credit (which is essentially what you would need to do) to use it later. You'd have to just get something "portable" or box it and take it with you then.

Please correct me if this is not current info.!

Hi Leslie...from your photopass share friend, Leslie :lmao: We have always asked for dessert to be boxed up to-go if we are too full to eat it at that moment. The only time I would think they may not want to do it is if there is something like ice cream involved...otherwise, it should not be a problem at all. By the way, we have made some great breakfasts out of the previous night's dessert by simply sticking them in our fridge :thumbsup2 After-all, you are on VACATION

Re: T.S.
when we were at wcc we were too full for dessert..

(we were staying at WL so we didn't have to carry it around with us) but they had a great fruit plate w/ yogurt which we got to go and enjoyed it for breakfast the next day.

I remember we did get other desserts to go (can't remember where) and had carrot cake for breakfast. (breakfast of champions!!):cool1:
