What are your favorite desserts "to go"? I'm looking for things that could be transported without being smashed. :) I'd like suggestions for TS or QS. It's ok if it has to be refrigerated because sometimes we'll be going straight back to our room.

Our favorites were the brownies & cookies at WPE in DTD Marketplace.DH & I would split them as a snack later in the room that night:goodvibes

Your counter service places that offer limited dessert choices...like the prepackaged dessert cups at Cosmic Ray's in the Magic Kingdom...will travel fairly well (although if you're there when it's really hot, the frosting will melt pretty quickly in the heat.) Most of the non-pre-packaged dessert items will not travel well because they are cold items (in general. There are a few exceptions of course...if cookies are an option, those will travel. At resort counter service you can usually get a big cookie as a dessert. Sometimes fruit if an option, too.)

Our experience is that the vast majority of table-service desserts need refrigeration immediately or are ice-cream based desserts that cannot "travel". Even the desserts that should "travel" for at least a little while--like cheesecake, or layer cakes--at Disney, these often have a whipped cream or creme fraiche layer that will melt within a few minutes. So to be sure, ask your server if the dessert you want will be a melter or not. If it's on the menu, you can choose something like an apple tart or fruit crumble/crisp dessert and ask for it without the sauce & without the ice cream. Those will travel...but our experience on those is if they normally serve them with ice cream or whipped cream: they NEED the ice cream or whip cream. We've thrown out some very dry desserts we took to-go because without the cream they were just too dry to eat. Some restaurants have virtually nothing on the menu that can be a "to go" dessert...for example, we just ate at Via Napoli. Seems like every single dessert was basically some sort of ice cream.

the only dessert we took back was from WCC. DH and I got the apple pie (OMG to die for!!!) and SD got the chocolate cake. They were great the next morning for breakfast

I asked the same question a few weeks ago. Do many of the CS places have yogurt of fruit cups as desserts? Those can be put in the fridge for breakfast the next day.

I'm not above eating leftover dessert for breakfast!!! Thank you very much for your ideas.

Yes whispering canyon offered to box our dessert as we were headed straight back to the resort. We got a cheesecake and a fruit platter which travelled fine.

Last weekend we ate at Olivia's and took desserts to go.
I forget what they called them. But mine was basically strawberry shortcake. And DH's was a tall looking Key Lime Tart.

We took back the chocolate moose from Le Cellier and it was yummy the next morning for breakfast! They packed it in a to-go box so it was well protected. The Whiskey cake also traveled well.

In the World Showcase, we've gotten pastries at the Kringla Bakery in Norway and the Patisserie in France.

The toffee cake and brownie from LTT lunch kept pretty well (sans ice cream, of course) for mid-afternoon snack.

Often, I take desserts back to the hotel from Sweet Spells in DHS. My favorites are the dory cookies and the mickey mouse head shaped chocolate chip/walnut cookies!

Also, Goofy's Candy Co. in DTD has TONS of snacks that you could transport (chocolate covered pretzels/marshmallows, rice krispie treats, etc.)

Were bringing a slightly oversized insilated lunch bag for just this reason. I'm hoping the weather after Thanksgiving will not be too hot so that with the bag with a reusable ice block thingy the deserts will stay edable for later that day or breakfast the next.

Mostly planning on keeping fruit cups or yogurt w/granola in the bag.
