Dessert party

Hi,

we are having our wedding at the swan and dolphin. We planned to have a dessert party at Epcot afterwards.

So, today I rang up to look into this and was told we were not allowed to have one as we are not staying on disney property. I then asked if me and my partner stayed on property would it be allowable but was told all 13 of us have to stay on property.

Now this seems a bit odd cause I am sure I have read here that people have had dessert parties without all guests staying on property.

Would anybody have a good disney contact to speak about this cause now we have a bit of a void for our wedding night.

I'm wondering if this might have to do with you not having an actual DFTW through Disney? I have also read of others having a DP without having a DFTW but you may have to go through someone else from Disney. Did you contact DFTW or somebody else? Because that may be the way to do it.

I didn't ring DFTW. I rang their events department. I also never mentioned it was for a wedding as I was told you would be passed from pillar to post. I just stated we would like a dessert party to celebrate somebodys birthday. She asked where I was staying, which is the swan hotel, and she stated it wasn't possible.

I'm shocked to hear this. Surely not all DP holders have guests staying at Disney. I would try again and speak to someone else

Maybe its a new rule. If you do one of the grand gathering events all guests have to be staying onsite.

Just an update.

I got speaking to somebody else at Disney and they have booked the dessert party for me at Uk upper on 5th May. They just required me and my bride to be staying at disney property which includes the swan and dolphin.
