I'm looking for some info on dessert parties. About how much do they cost and where can you do them? We are having our reception at the GF until 11, so would that be too late to have a dessert party afterwards back at the Whitehall Room and Patio? Any info or your opinion on them would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :thumbsup2

Usually dessert parties are held during a fireworks show, like Wishes or IllumiNations. However, if your reception doesn't end until 11pm, there won't be any fireworks to watch at that time.

What time does your reception start? You could do your cocktail hour at Sago Cay/the GF Marina during Wishes, depending on when the show's scheduled that night.

Thank you! :) Our reception starts at 7 pm. I was hoping that since the wedding is 5 days from Christmas that the park would be open later and Wishes would be later. Is there any way to find out what time Wishes will be that day or maybe when it was last year at the same time?

It is very possible that it will be open the same time as last year, but I wouldnt bank on it, mostly because Disney is hurting financially and they are looking for ways to cut cost and that could be one way. Not saying I know any facts, but there has been a lot of buzz on this topic, and I dont want your plans to get messed up.

You guys rock!:worship: Thank you so much. I will use this info and discuss w/ my planner to see if it would be worth it to do the dessert party. :goodvibes Thanks again!

I had my reception at the Whitehall Room too and it went from 3.30pm to midnight. Wishes was on at 10pm the night of the wedding and we had our dp at Sago Cay at the GF, we walked over to Sago Cay at 9.30pm and then went back to the Whitehall for dancing from 10.30pm to midnight, I thought this worked really well, it was nice to break off in the middle of the reception for food.
