Dessert Party Question

I was checking out the new virtual tours on the website. When I selected for Dessert Party it said the Whitehall Room & Patio. That's most likely where my reception is going to be held. So I was wondering if anyone else has had their dessert party there as well as their reception and if they had been able to see the fireworks decently enough.

I'm a Nov. 2011 bride, so I can't tell you about the fireworks firsthand, but I just toured the Whitehall Room & Patio at the Open House last weekend. It's gorgeous! I loved the octagon room with the ability to go outside.
It's really nifty that you can see the Magic Kingdom from the location, Cinderella's castle included. But the monorail does run RIGHT NEXT TO the patio. So from what I can tell, yes you will be able to see the fireworks, but there will also be a bit of a blockage from the track.

Gratz on being a Nov. 2011 bride as well. yey I'm hoping that it'll be nice that day because I would like to set the tables up outside. It's a shame that there's blockage though. THat would've saved me viewing fees. Oh well..Thax for the info.

There are no viewing fees if you watch Wishes from the Marina. Plenty of Whitehall couples have moved to Sago Cay or the Marina to watch Wishes and have desserts, and some have even had the party move back to Whitehall after.

We had our VR in the White hall room and patio in Nov. We watched the fireworks from there and thought the view was great. We loved when the monorail went by during the fireworks cause it was just so " Disney". Looking at the MK, watching the fireworks then the monorail goes by, priceless and one of my favorite moments of the night! I have pics in my TR and I have also posted more pics of the fireworks view from there for someone else on these boards. You can probably find them by doing a search.

oh wow they look great! They look close as well. I was thinking they would look farther away. Thank you so much for sharing that. I might reconsider going into the park for the dessert party and save myself some money. It could be cool to just step outside and watch the fireworks. Maybe I could have the dj play some disney music while it's going on.

Our DJ had the speakers set up out on the patio and he played the Wishes theme music as soon as the fireworks started! It was perfect. It was nice because the music was being played out there all night. We had our cocktail hour there and the bar was out there too. Disney wanted around $800 to pipe in the music from the fireworks show! I had the same music for no extra cost from my DJ.

That sounds really awesome. I'm going to see if I can find a copy of the wishes soundtrack. I will have to see what time the fireworks are starting and either stretch the reception or start it a bit later. DF and I have been hoping that it will be a nice night that way we can set things up outside. I agree with you the monorail going by would make it very Disneyish. And the other plus my photographer would be able to take pics instead of hiring the Disney one's for the dessert party. Thanx again for the info. I'm really excited about this new possibility.
