Headed to MK with husband and 3 teens. I plan on booking a dessert party, but I'm not sure which slot to choose. Originally, I thought a post-fireworks party so we could stay as late as possible in the park, but now it looks like the park will be open until 10pm with fireworks at 8:15. Should I pick the during-fireworks option and try to grab one last ride? Is that even possible? TIA

FWIW, I had a heck of a time getting the Seats & Treats during, it seemed to fill with insane speed before my window even opened. Pre and post were much easier to reserve.

If you can get the treats and seats you are lucky as it goes quick. the problem with pre is that you are rushed to eat your snacks/drinks so you can get to the reserved area to get the best seats. All the post people are in the same viewing area and since they have the time they can camp out for the best spots and then get to fully enjoy snacks/drinks leisurely.

We've only done the post fireworks show dessert party and enjoyed it BUT we did it when MK closed shortly after. I would not necessarily want to do the party while MK is still open for a while. People do show up early for the reserved seating for the post fireworks party but it's less of an issue since you're not trying to eat your weight in your snacks/drinks and get a good seat in the reserved viewing area. We took our time at the party and I really loved leaving MK without the crazy crowds, it was much more relaxing. I don't think it would be bad to the pre-fireworks party so long as you check in early to the party to enjoy yourselves and get in all the goodies and then take your time to get in the reserved area. You may not be right in front but imo, the views are pretty good from most of the reserved areas. We prefer the back so we can lean on the fence/wall.

We’ve been to both . The pre fireworks dessert party just is more exciting to me . Everything is fresh and the sun is setting . We usually go towards the back for fireworks viewing so it’s enough time to enjoy the party and still find seats . After we went on rides with little wait . The after fireworks dessert party is just ok to me. The excitement is kind of over . The desserts weren’t as cold . Yes I know they bring out new ones but it didn’t feel as fresh and cold as the pre party . The strawberry lemonade is delicious btw . I don’t even usually drink lemonade ! And don’t forget to ask for a different table if you don’t care for the one they give you .

this may be a dumb question, but can you pay for the party with a gift card? I'm only seeing a credit card option...

can you stay seated, leaning against the fence/wall and still see the whole show?

No, you'll need to stand for the show, otherwise the people in front of you will block your view. But you can still lean on the fence while standing - that's our favorite way to watch when we book the dessert party.

I've done all three and prefer Treat and Seats, yes the view is off to the side and you miss some projections but my last pre-party (early December) was awful. Viewing area was over-crowded and my view was obstructed a bit. I won't do the pre-post anymore....just not worth it for me. And to answer your gift card question, yes you can pay using a GC but you have to call! Not sure why they don't have more robust online payment options these days.
