Hey everyone,

Hoping for a dessert party at the GF Sago Quay and just wondered if anyone had any experience of having both your main evening meal (hot food) and then desserts at the dessert party if that makes sense. Does anyone have a current menu with pricing on please? Hoping to have around 20 people.

Thanks

So you're wondering about how it works when the dessert party directly follows the reception? Most people report that guests don't eat as much of the desserts as they expected, especially if they just had wedding cake. I'd see about either having the wedding cake at the DP (which means it won't be set up in the reception room and can be restricted due to weather) or just do a verrrry basic menu at the DP.

Pricing for dessert parties depends on the food and beverage minimum for the location. Sago Cay has a $1,250 food and beverage minimum for a dessert party. Since the same menus are available everywhere on property and completely customizable, DFTW just sends out this Epcot dessert party menu, and you can work from there to customize it to suit your budget and taste.

If you're asking if you can have hot food as well as desserts at a dessert party the answer is yes. Keep in mind a dessert party only lasts about an hour and there's not a lot of time for a full meal and desserts in that time especially as everyone will be distracted by fireworks.

Sorry I wasn't very clear. I wondered if we could have a main evening meal at the dessert party. Are you able to extend the time so this would be possible.?

Thank you

If you have a full sit-down meal, the food and beverage minimum at Sago Cay rises to $4,000. You may be able to add a few savory appetizers to your dessert party and still have it qualify for dessert party pricing, but if it gets close to being a pre-reception (i.e., stand-up event with appetizers and booze) they'll charge you THAT food and beverage minimum, which is $3,000.

Thank you for your help. Think I'll be looking at a reception at lunch at either citrocos or narcossees instead. Is there a sample menu you can look at to get an idea of prices?

For a Wishes Collection reception you'll need to spend $150/person on food and beverage for a lunch reception. Here are a bunch of sample menus, but keep in mind that the prices on the menu kinda don't matter because A) you have to meet that $150 and B) you can work with Disney to customize the menus. So if you're spending $50/person on booze and the menu you want says it's $125, you can ask them to help you create a similar menu that's just $100/person if you're trying to stick to the minimums.
