Dessert Party and Escape Minimum

Is it true that if you add a Dessert Party to an Escape Wedding that it no longer triggers the minimum expenditure?

There are just the three of us and I would love to have a little party at UK Lochside on our wedding night, but there's no way we could ever meet the minimums!

I haven't heard that. The latest was that any catered event would trigger the $7,500 minimum. Where did you find that info?

Escape events held on Saturday or Sunday still have a $7,500 minimum expenditure regardless of whether they include a catered event. But adding a catered event to Monday–Friday Escape weddings held now through September 2012 will not trigger the minimum.

While this offer is available, you still have to meet whatever food and beverage minimums are required by the space, so if you were thinking about a place with a $1,000 or $1,500 minimum, it would probably be a wash. But UK Pubside's food and beverage minimum is only $230 (plus the $100ish venue fee, of course!).
