Would it be possible to hit a restaurant on the monorail, say Kona Cafe or the California Grill for dessert after the fireworks? We are going to WDW in a couple of weeks, and my 20yr old nephew and I are the only ones interested in seeing the fireworks. I thought maybe we could watch Wishes from the Poly, and then maybe head inside or over to the Contemporary for some dessert.

Is that a workable plan, or am I just crazy?:confused3 Or could you please recommend someplace we could go get something sweet to eat?

You can always walk up and try. If nothing else many of them offer their desserts at a hotel lounge/bar and you could get them there. When we wanted dessert only at Jiko's while staying at AKL that is what was suggested to us (of course soon after we ordered they came over to tell us they had found us a table but we just stayed at the bar at that point).

The later you go and the less crowded the restaurant you are visiting is, the more likely you will be accommodated. Just let the host/ess know that only eating dessert is your intention. You should probably be okay.

We once ordered a dessert from Kona to-go so that we could enjoy it on the beach, but that was probably a little bit lucky on our part since we asked a very friendly CM!
