Howdy, A year ago last March there were not any. I don't know about now.
We recently got back from a 3 day cruise and I wrote the cruise line about their sugar free desserts. I actually got a letter about 3 weeks later from the food manager. Please write to him and suggest it, just in case they don't have it. They do listen to comments from guests and make changes. I have seen it happen on all 6 of our cruises. I wrote because scoops didnt have sugar free ice cream. They have it at dinner, so why not offer it at scoops too. Also the afternoon cookie platter has no sugar free cookies and the buffet at lunch has one selection. If you don't care for it, your out of luck, while all the other guests have at least a dozen choices. That didn't seem fair to us. But they really need to improve the BBQ on
Castaway Cay. They had ice cream, cake and cookies, but not even ONE sugar free dessert. That was very unfair and I told them so. So you may want to help everyone out by dropping the cruise line a letter about the dessert buffet and the rest that I have told you if you want sugar free desserts too.
It's really easy, just go to
DCL's official site, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on contact us. The departments to choose to send it to are not the right ones, but just ask your letter to be forwarded to the food service department and they will get it. If we all work togewther we can get sugar free desserts more available. This has been a project of mine for the past 6 months to try and get people to band together and tell disney they do need to improve in this area of their food service.
I hope they will have the sugar free desserts at the buffet by the time you cruise, but telling them ahead of time it may help make it happen.
Good luck, I hope they comply possitively.
