We are going to Steakhouse 55 for our anniversary dinner (well, one of them!). We will want dessert no matter how stuffed we are. :thumbsup2 Should I order a cake for the celebration or are the desserts at the restaurant better? It is just the two of us, so we'd try to get the smallest cake possible. What would you do? Thanks for any advice!!

Get the restaurant's desserts - fabulous!!!!!

For special occasions - if you let them know, they will make the desserts extra special or maybe even do something cool. I think you will enjoy going with the menu items.

Thank you for this advice! I will call and add the anniversary to our PS. Is it okay that we aren't eating there ON our anniversary? We are eating there two days before, but we'll be eating at Minnie's ON our anniversary. Will they think it strange that we are listing it on every PS? Thanks for your help!!!! :goodvibes

Nancy -

I'm looking at the menu on all ears, and the desserts do sound fabulous. Do you have any specific recommendations? We really like chocolate. :thumbsup2 Thanks!

We are going there for our anniversary so I'm also interested in the answer. Chocolate lover here too! :)

When is your anniversary? It looks close to ours. Ours is May 27th. We're only celebrating our third, but it is one on the road to many! :lovestruc Happy anniversary to you!

Okay - several answers

1) Who ever does something on the actual date of a celebration? Just make sure you put the info about the anniversary in every single PS and reservation you make - even for tours.... After all, isn't the whole trip about celebrating your anniversary?:thumbsup2

I know I get lucky to have my BDay over a weekend occasionally - it's on the actual Labor Day weekend this year. That's where Disney is saving money on the Celebrations promotion - how many folks can come on their actual birthday date? But I digress from food and ....

2) Chocolate!!!!! Any of their desserts will impress. The souffle is the signature, as well as the Bonita, so either is a winner. I haven't had it, but I've heard good things about it - the Bonita may be similar to the one they have at the Napa, where they feature the Vahlronna flourless chocolate cake. We've had that many times in many incarnations.

Keep in mind that we are trying to build the section with DL menus on the www.wdwinfo.com website, too. Bring back menus and PM them to Webmaster Kelsie (there is a sticky on what to do at the top of the board).

Thanks for all the advice. I know,I know we don't usually celebrate ON the day at home either, but I didn't want Disney to think we were cheating the system when ALL our PS say anniversary the entire week. :rolleyes1 We mention our celebrations at WDW too, but I still want that reassurance that all will be okay.

All those desserts sound delicious. Maybe we'll have to try more than one . . . I'll let you all know! Also, we will for sure bring a menu back for the DIS. I looked there first but Steakhouse 55 came up empty. Hopefully I can at least help in that small way. Thanks again for all your tips and help! They are much appreciated. :goodvibes

The breakfast there is good, desert probably is as well. Can't go wrong.

Okay, all this talk recently about Steakhouse 55 is making my mouth water. :rotfl2: I think DH and I may have to take an Anniversary trip over there in July. The food sounds SO good. And what's this about a chocolate soufle? I want one of those!

Ours is June 10th, but we can't go until DH gets out of school (teacher). So we are going at the end of June. They just keep making summer shorter and shorter! Can't believe it has been 20 years. I will have been married half my life. Time flies when you are having fun! :lovestruc

Definately have to try something chocolate there. :thumbsup2
