We have heard wonderful things about the almond-crusted cheesecake at Narcoossee's, but looking at the menu, the meal offerings really don't appeal to us at all. I know this is a nice restaurant, but do you think they would allow us to make an ADR for dessert only? We would not need a prime dinner time for it. What time do you think would be good? Thanks in advance for your opinion. :goodvibes

my opinion is no... would you do this at an upscale restaurant at home? i wouldn't... and therefore i don't think doing it at wdw is any different...

perhaps you can call and ask if you could pick up a slice to go (maybe just before dinner service starts around 5pm)... or if you are staying at the GF, perhaps it could be ordered via room service...

otherwise, i think you'd have to either go for the entire meal or forgo the cheesecake...

Thanks for your help and opinion. I truly didn't know what WDW restaurants would do. We have several nice restaurants in our downtown area that welcome reservations for late night (after the symphony, a show, etc.) for dessert and coffee/drinks. I didn't know if Narcoossee's would care if we came in after the parks closed for this. I will look into the to-go option. If I can't try it, my world won't end. I just thought it could be possible.

Any other thoughts or suggestions are welcome - especially if you have tried to have a restaurant prepare a to go order before.

:)

I'm just curious, would this be your opinion for all of the WDW restaurants, or just signature dining? When I read the OP question, I was intrigued because I'd love to have just drinks and dessert at a restaurant on the monorail line.

it's my opinion for all wdw restaurants... and restaurants in general unless they cater to the "after movies/concert/symphony" crowd offering specialty coffees and desserts when their tables would likely be empty anyway... but in a restaurant that turns away patrons (i.e. peter luger steakhouse in ny comes to mind) and requires reservations well in advance, then no, i don't see them giving a table to the dessert/coffee folks... but i could be wrong... it's probably worth a phone call...

fwiw, i wouldn't even go to applebees and order just dessert during the main dinner hour when there is a wait to get it...

oh, and p.s. there are plenty of nice bars on the monorail line that would be happy to serve you drinks/appy (maybe dessert?!) at any hour :)

Now that you've put in in NY terms, I totally understand :thumbsup2 And you're really right, I wouldn't go and just order dessert at a sold out restaurant during dinner hours, it just wouldn't make a whole lot of sense and I'd be taking away an ADR from someone who truly wants to enjoy the food.

I am a picky eater so the sig restaurant entrees don't really appeal to me. The desserts however, that's a different story :rotfl: A to-go option for desserts would be awesome! Here's hoping it can be done!

THere are bars in many of the best places to eat in WDW including the Cali Grill and Narcoossees. Why not do that around fireworks time and watch the fireworks from there? We always goto the bar at California Grill, get an drink and maybe share an bite to eat, and then watch the fireworks. That doesn't take a table or a tip from anyone...
