Desperate for Fried Pickles

I had them on a trip several years ago, they were served at the Wildhorse, which is no longer the Wildhorse.......Does anyone know where else they are served???

I have to say, that is a new one on me !! I have never heard of fried pickles ! So out of curiosity I looked it up only to find that there were no matches in WDW but there was a Bar-B-Q place somewhere around Orlando that has them (I think), the article said they had them: http://www.superpages.com/cities/articles/orlando-wheretoeat.html (look under Southern style) but the menu didn't specify http://www.bubbalous.com/menus_DineIn.htm. If that is too much of a hassle then you can make them at home:

FRIED DILL PICKLES

1 egg, beaten
1 c. milk
1 tbsp. flour
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
6 drops hot sauce
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. pepper
3 1/2 c. flour
1 qt. sliced dill pickles
Wesson oil for deep frying

Combine first 5 ingredients, stirring well. Set aside. Combine 3 1/2 cups flour, salt and pepper, stirring well. Dip pickles in milk mixture and dredge in flour mixture, repeat process. Deep fry in hot oil, 350 degrees until pickles float to surface and are golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

Ive never had them but I see Captain D's brings them out as a special item atleast once a year.. I try to stay away from fried items lately tho..

Oh Man do I miss the Porthole Pub, from Saugus Mass now in Naples FL!

We had a county fair here this past Feb and there was a stand selling nothing but fried veggies and pickles, they served them with ranch dressing....we ate so much we were sick!

I don't believe there are fried pickles at Disney World, sorry. I loved them when we lived in Mississippi but my husband couldn't even stand the thought of them. Now we're in Georgia and he won't let me order them here!

The Shoney's on 535 out side DTD has them on the menu. Never tried them myself but they sound interesting!

I just wanted to say that it's so funny I came across this thread. DH and I are going out tonight to a Southwestern Restaurant and comedy club here in the Philadelphia suburbs. I was reading the menu and fried pickles are on it. I never heard of them before, but I take it from your post that they're good. We may just have to try them!

We have them at a place here in town and I thought they sounded so awful and then I tried them....sooo good. Thanks to the poster of the recipe. I think I'll try making some.

I miss Fried pickles too! although I had them back in Texas, not in WDW. Haven't seem the dish in Washington yet..... NO one seems to fry anything here!

I know they have them in Nashville.
