Last minute trip planned for late September (yay!) but most places (and times) we want to dine at are booked :sad1:. Still a lot of time to go but should we be really feeling despair at this point or keep our hopes up? I'm guessing (hoping!) lots of advanced reservations made that will change once we get closer to actual dates? What are others experience with getting dining reservations when all seems lost?:o Keep vigilant I would guess?

Oh my goodness, there’s so much time until your trip you shouldn’t have any trouble getting what you want. I would recommend using the touring plans reservation finder, that has worked for me for the California grill brunch, which has to be the hardest res to get.

Definitely don't despair! Every restaurant becomes available as dates get closer; setting up a reservation finder is the easiest way (so you don't have to check constantly) and don't under estimate night before openings. You'd be amazed at what pops open!

We have had luck getting reservations at the 30 day mark, 5 days before trip and 24 hours before. People change plans all the time and packages need to be paid in full 30 days before arrival, room only cancellation at least 5 days for full refund. And dining reservations need to be cancelled 24 hours before or a $10 no show fee per person is charged against credit card. Keep checking!!

Have you set up any alerts using the free ADR finder from touring plans? I’ve had great luck with that when we’ve decided to add an ADR long after the 180 booking date. It has worked for us pretty much every time.

Have you considered using this opportunity to try restaurants that might pique your interests or taste buds, but haven't because you stick with favorites? Or being more flexible with your dining times based on what is available?

I decided to plan, this week, a trip in September to celebrate my birthday. I was bummed not to get some of the restaurants I wanted, but already, people have canceled various restaurants, allowing me to book. :D Now I am just waiting on one more. I would just book reservations for now, and keep checking back. What are you looking for?

Just go to other restaurants or times and find something new you wouldn’t have tried otherwise. Don’t forget you’re still going to the happiest place on earth!

I will second the suggestion by MickeyWaffles to use the reservation finder on Touring Plans. You can have 2 active searches going on at any given time and it has always worked for me. Just be prepared to respond very quickly to a text and/or email notification that a reservation has been found. I haven’t noticed the message for 30-60 minutes before and when I did and looked the reservation was no longer available. If that happens you go back into the request page and resubmit the request. Even when this has happened a couple of times I would resubmit and still eventually got the restaurant I wanted. Good Luck!!

Don't despair, but prepare to be vigilant. This should keep your spirits up; I once got a Fourth of July ADR for CG for a party of six the morning before, and the year BOG first opened, I managed to get last minute ADRs for both lunch and dinner during Christmas week. In fact, with near obsessive checking, I've always gotten the restaurants I wanted, even if the times weren't perfect, and that's the key right there, to be slightly flexible with your times. If you want to eat dinner at 6pm, but something pops up for 4pm, take it.

Can you please provide a link for this app? I'm assuming it is an app?

How big is your party? I've stumbled on to tables for 2 at Le cellier the same day. It's actually kind of fun playing mealtime roulette when you're a party of two.

My husband and I just got back from a last minute anniversary trip. We booked the trip less than a month ahead of time and I was making/changing dining reservations up until we left and even when we were there. We had no trouble getting into any of the the places we wanted (including Be Our Guest and Ohana etc.) People make way too big of a deal about ADRs (I should know, I used to be one of them!)

Not sure about accessing from their app as I have always used website which SamFaniam indicates above and you will have to set up an account as also indicated. I can be technically challenged at times, LOL, so to Specifically get to the reservation finder I usually put “ADR Finder” in search box and it brings up a link so their “walt-disney-world/reservation-finder”
Good luck again, I hope this works for you, this is always for me and my DD so a reservation for 2 may be easier to get but it’s worth a try

We found all our top restaurants last minute - a of people overbook then cancel week of so no worries. If you do a search for openings today you will see a lot of availability

Don't despair. I've been tracking a few popular places and if you're flexible on time (willing to eat very early or late), I have been able to find a reservation. I got my reservation at Artist's Point only a few days away. And if you download the app, you can track what comes up. For instance, I can almost always find a next day reservation at Be Our Guest (for dinner) between 8:50 - 9:45. 9:45 might be too late for me, but it's nice to know you can get it. If you log on more, you can probably get a better time. People book stuff but cancel a lot from what I hear.

I used to obsess over having just the right ADR's at just the right times. At the 180 day mark before my last trip, I immediately booked BOG, 'Ohana, and 6 other table service restaurants for a 10 night trip. Then, DVC announced moonlight magic on my 'Ohana night. So, I dropped 'Ohana and came up empty trying to put it on any other day of our trip. During the trip, we used the MDE app to book ADR's typically for the same or next day. We ended up getting 'Ohana, and juggled the Narcoossee's ADR to a different night without any issue whatsoever. We ended up with the originally booked 8 ADR's, 4 of which got moved to different days and times, and an additional 8 ADR's for restaurants that we booked "last minute".

I wouldn't despair, and I certainly wouldn't stress myself out over not getting that one ADR at this point.

I don't use the touring plan app either (I'm app adverse;)) but it's easy enough to set up searches on your laptop and then get a text message notification when it's found. You'll be texted a link that will send you directly to your Disney app (that one I have, LOL) to make the reservation.

Here's a desktop link for touring plan and be sure to set up a free membership beforehand:

Should you like to eat at Disney Springs or other places outside the resorts and parks it's easy to make last minute or in advance reservations at:
