Design the ideal dining plan

Give back the appetizer and include tip with the regular Dining Plan (and maybe shave 10 bucks off the price) and it's perfect! :thumbsup2

I would love to see:
2 TS
2 snacks
1 refillable mug at any quick service counter in all of WDW (all resorts and parks)

We love the deluxe plan. However, three sit down meals is too much for us. I am not a big fan of eating at signature restaurants every day either (not always practical with a newborn and four year old as these tend to be long meals). I like to avoid CS all together. A snack or two in between breakfast and dinner would be nice. That is how we would use it. The snack credits could also be used for breakfast using the TS credits for lunch and dinner to get more bang for your buck. If the mugs could be refilled at any quick service location, you would not need to use snack credits for drinks (unless you want water bottles). This is especially useful for people who carry a bag anyway for their young ones. Just pack the mugs in the bag when not in use.

Purchased a refillable mug at Magic Mountain recently. Each refill was $0.99, but they were refillable across the park. That was nice.

Totally agree with the above post! 2 TS, 2 snacks, & a universally refillable-for-a-small-fee mug! Pricing could be about $10pp more than current DDP. And the mugs should be resort specific & you get free refills at your resort but pay $1 at the parks (same beverages as on current plan, maybe add a vitamin water or gatorade option)!:thumbsup2

Additionally, snacks should be ANYTHING edible that is $4 or less. No more existential "What is a snack?" questions!

Said it before, and I'll say it again, there's no technological reason they can't build an ala carte custom DDP system that allows you to purchase the number and types of credits you want/need that would be valid for the duration of your resort stay.

Credits could be purchased individually and/or in discounted "packages" under such a scheme (e.g., choose a package like the current basic DDP at a discounted rate per credit and add N number of extra CS credits at the "rack" rate).

Yep me too! If you are there 14 nights and you only want 7 nights to use throughout the 14 nights, still paying for the other 7. Also dont think everyone in the room should have to be on the same plan! :cloud9:

1 counter service
1 TS
2 snacks
refillable mug
You could pay an additional fee per signature TS that you desire...i.e. $30pp would be added to the 1 TS to be used at signature restaurant. If eating at a signature, you automatically get app, entree, dessert.

I think for TS, you shoud be able to substitute an app for a dessert. Or, you should be able to get an alcoholic beverage instead of the dessert/app.

An alcoholic beverage from a cart should be equivalent to 2 snack credits.

2 CS should be able to be combined to equal 1 TS.

2 snacks should be able to be combined to make 1 CS.

A drink option for each park would be fabulous, too. I don't mean a mug that you need to carry around. Perhaps a card, bracelet, etc. that could be purchased (or included in the plan) that would entitle the user to nonalcoholic drinks at the park. Or even around the entire world for the length of stay. Perhaps an alcoholic version could be offered as well.

I know this is all a "dream world", so please son't flame my ideas or tell me this or that is already offered. This is just the ideal plan/options for DH and me.

A very good one at that.....:thumbsup2

I would revamp it alltogether.

1 credit = counterservice meal
2 credits = table service meal (no dessert)
3 credits = signature meal (no dessert)

snack/dessert credit (to be used for dessert w/ a meal or snack)

for each day, you'd get 3 credits, plus 2 or 3 dessert/snack credits. Everyone would have a lot more flexability as to how they wish to dine.

I would love a snack plan. More like a ticket system where the more you buy the cheaper they get. And make them no expiration or at least an option to buy a no expiration option.

My kids are snackers which is why we do the qsdp. TS goes to waste on them.

But a pure snack plan would be perfect. And I agree, make it whatever costs $4 or less. If I feel the need to eat an entire big bag of chips that's on me.

And the drink plan would be wonderful too. Pay one price for all non-alcoholic drinks for duration of stay although this would have to be purchased for all members of the party. Or else it would be too abused to continue.

My husband uses 2 snack credits for breakfast. He gets coffee and a danish. I'm not a huge breakfast person and drink a protein shake. I don't mind giving up my snack credit for him. Then we eat CS for lunch somewhere in one of the parks. We have dining reservations for dinner and use our TS. Works out great for us.

Put me in the camp with several other PPs who want 2 TS & 2 snacks per day. We don't normally do lunch, plus I'd hate to take time out of the day for a 3rd meal anyway. A breakfast buffet, a snack or two in the afternoon, and a nice TS dinner is perfect.

I don't need a dining plan of any sort, but a non-alchoholic drink scheme good anywhere on property would go a long way toward making me happy. Mugs, cards, bracelets...I don't care how they do it. I don't know what price would make sense for something like this, but I'd probably pay up to $10 a day just for the convenience.

Next trip I'm going to try to buy myself a gift card before the trip, and use it to pay for food and drink. I'll let you all know how it works out.

The old Dinning Plan with the Tip and an Appetizer included, and Le Cellier as one Dinning credit. :thumbsup2

I couldn't agree more Jack nag, I have to say been to disney every year after they took away the tip included... Service is still hit or miss, but it was an easier pill to swallow when it was a miss with tip included...That 20 dollar tip minimum was a huge savings over week....
