Hi. I just emailed my contact at DFTW to book my wedding date. We are planning for April 4, 2012. We were hoping for the WP, LSS and a dessert party in EPCOT. We can get the WP, LSS, but no dessert party because it is Easter week. I find it hard to believe that all locations in EPCOT are booked. Is it because it's a holiday week an they don't hold desert parties during the week of a holiday? I just find this bizarre

If anyone could explain this to me I'd appreciate it greatly. (I have contacted DFTW but have not heard anything back yet)

Thank You ;)

I am sure it is because it is Easter week and as the parks are SO crowded they do not plan any private events like that. We were married November 10, 2008 and I am pretty sure when we were picking out our date, if we had gotten married Thanksgiving through New Years we would not be able to have an Epcot DP due to the crowds.

Have you thought about a Wishes DP? I know you will be in Epcot and an IllumiNations DP would be perfect, but maybe a Wishes DP would work. They also do Fantasmic DP. There is not too much info on these boards about these but it could be something else you could look into.

Good luck and let us know what happens.

Linda

Thanks. I'm still waiting on a reply from DFTW. I personally don't care about the crowds but I guess I could understand that.

It's not about you and the crowds. It's about staffing (or lack thereof, since people don't show up to work) and the crowds, and the logistics of accommodating a special event when the parks are closing the parks because they're at full capacity.

I first looked into Epcot for reception, but was not allowed due to Wine and Dine Marathon. Now doing Sago Cay for dessert party, which works better for me, since I prefer Wishes to Illuminations. Plus, there's no fee to rent the place.
