Hello everyone! Was planning on staying at the Residence inn on Katella, breakfast looks great and i really like how we can get a room with a seperated living area so the kids can go to bed ( and probably me too) and my night owl husband can stay up later if he likes. Doing some digging on expedia today and see desert palms has a similar suite for around the same price. What do you guys think? Breakfast is pretty important as i have 8 year old twins and i want them to be able to fill up. The residence inn does look all new and fancy, but not as important as lay out of suite, food, pool etc. Walking from either will not be a problem for us. Want to pull the trigger but i am a very indecisive person by nature and i need input...also this is for December..know there is a chance we may have to cancel, but hoping for the best, plane tickets between Seattle and Disneyland are very good right now! Just wanting to see what all you lovely Disney obsessed folks think

Assuming you're talking about the Residence Inn right across the street from the Desert Palms. If the prices are about the same, the Residence Inn will be better. The accommodations are nicer and it's one of the better free breakfasts in the area. It's my most recommended hotel in the Disneyland area for people without hotel elite status.

Since you mention the pool, the Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance has the water slides and suites with bunk beds that kids love. It's usually pricier than the Residence Inn though and you'll have to purchase breakfast separately at the Bistro. There'll be things like bottled smoothies and breakfast sandwiches instead of things like scrambled eggs that you would get at the Residence Inn.

Residence Inn has a great breakfast!!!

We have 4 kids - 8, 6, 4, 2 - and we typically either stay at the RI or the courtyard. Courtyard is super close with the water park, but if we stay at the RI it's because of the breakfast. Our kids eat a big breakfast, we pack some cereal in paper coffee cups as a. snack, and then if we pack string cheese/dried fruit types of things, we only have to buy dinner in the parks. RI is a great layout - 1 bed suite gives everyone space and the kids can go to bed even if we're still up - but for that I do prefer Courtyard just because optimally we need a lot of beds and CY has bunks in each room. I don't know anything about the Desert Palms, but the RI is pretty new and very nice inside, and really the breakfast is enormous.

I stayed at the Residence Inn for D23 Expo and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. It was clean and the staff was friendly & helpful.
