Has anybody stayed here??? We are going March 22-27 and I have a room reserved . Price is 129 for a suite and it is adjacent to Disneyland. Is it nice? Worth the $$$ If not, any suggestions? Would like a suite with free breakfast-thats why I picked this one-for now. hanks!! Maria :cool1:

I've not stayed there, but I am familiar with where its at. Yes, it is technically adjancent to DL. But it is behind the parking lot that is behind California Adventure. You can either walk down Harbor Blvd to get to the entrance to the maingate, or there is an area where you can enter the parking lot, walk about 150 yrds, then catch the parking lot tram to the front.

My favorite hotel is the Carousel Inn and Suites which is on Harbor, directly across the street from the main entrance. They have a free breakfast, such that it is, toast, muffins, fruit, coffee, juice. But the view when you are eating is spectacular, overlooking the parks.

They have 1 bath, 2 bath, mini and view suites. I've stayed in the 2 bath suites and loved it. It's your basic 2 queen bed hotel room, with an additional 1 queen with its own full bath attached. With my Entertainment card, I got a rate of $99.

Right in that same area, there is BW Park Place, Tropicana and Desert Inn which all have suites. I've stayed at Tropicana and Desert Inn, but in regular rooms. They were ok, but I prefer Carousel. But if Carousel's full, I check these two. I've heard good things about the BW, but have never stayed since I've always gotten a better rate elsewhere.

If I recall - I would use the term "breakfast" very loosely. This was a few years ago but it consisted of some bruised apples, stale doughnuts and not much else!

Thank you for the quick info.I love these boards. I just looked at the Carousel and it looks nice! I will check what the rates are there and I have an Ent. Card.
helooothere- I know what you mean....In New Mexico at the BW we stayed at the hot "breakfast" consisted of wet bagels and gross juices.Oh, they offered us toaster waffles-but had no syrup :earseek: .How the heck do you eat waffles with no syrup?Thats why I count on comments from past guests. :flower: --maria

Don't get mixed up between Desert Palm and Desert Inn and Suites. Desert Inn and suites is like right across the street from Disneyland. Takes 2 min. to get to the crosswalk to get into that main entrance walkway. Desert Palm my friends say you have to take a shuttle or it's a bit of a walk as someone has mentioned earlier.

Im confused.I originaly found the property on expedia and it said Desert Palms is adj. to Disneyland property. I am going to look closer..........thanks for the heads up Ikohawaii. :D

The Desert Palms Inn and Suites is on Katella just at the bottom of the Disneyland Property. The just completed a huge expansion and the place is pretty nice looking. The rooms in the older section have not been remodeled (from what I have read) so you may want to ask for one in the new section.
The Desert Inn and Suites is on Harbor just across from the entrance to the Property.

Like I posted earlier, the Desert Palms is technically adjacent to the property, but that's only because it is directly behind the parking lot which is directly behind Calif Adventure.

It's walkable, but you can get so much closer by choosing one of the hotels on Harbor.

got2travel has a nice description of where it is. I think you can stay at the Desert Inn and Suites for about the same price. I don't think it's as nice as the newly renovated Desert Palm Inn and Suites. If you decide to stay at the Desert Inn call them direct for a price. It was cheaper than their web site...which by the way goes by annaheimdesertinn. Hope this helps.

I'll be staying at this hotel next week and I have a questiom. I vaguely recall reading somewhere that there is a back way into the CA parking lot and you can take a parking lot tram from there to the entrance. Does anyone know exactly how to do this?

If you step out of the hotel onto Katella Blvd, turn right and walk past the little Alpine Motel and shortly after that is a small entrance into the parkinglot area. Head north and after that I am not sure as I have not gone that far. I just peeked in but you should be able to determine where the tram stop is.

The tram doesn't stop very far back in the parking lot. So, once you've entered the lot, you're pretty much walking straigt at Tower of Terror. Finally, when you think you've walked all the way to the front of the lot, there's the stop. Don't worry, there is a walking path painted on the concrete, just keep following it and it will lead you to the tram stop.
