Desert Palms Hotel Questions

Hi! I was wondering about how long the walk is from the Desert Palms Hotel to the Disneyland park entrance? I know it's one of the "closer" hotels, but I was wondering if the walk would be manageable with young kids.

I've been trying to find hotels that let you stay parked after check out. Supposedly Desert Palms allows this. Does anyone know from personal experience?

I stayed there this past summer. The walk is a little less than 10 minutes I'd say from the lobby to the park gates. I'm not sure how little kids would handle it, but if it was a lot of walking back and forth I'm not sure Desert Palms would be the right choice.

And yes, the Desert Palms allowed our car to stay parked while we enjoyed out last 1/2 day at the parks after checkout.

We stayed there last year and I agree that the walk is just under 10 minutes. We did do it with small kids, but they were in a stroller, so it wasn't that bad. If your kids are going to be walking and get tired easily, I'd probably suggest another hotel because that walk can feel really long at the end of the night. We didn't have a car, so I can't answer that question.

Thanks for the info! I'm trying to get as close to the parks as possible but we have a group of 6 so I'm trying to find accomodations where we can stay in one room.

Also, a couple of places I checked with said you can park at the hotel until 2 or 3 pm on checkout day. That won't work for us because we're only spending one day at the park (& spending the night before our park day). I don't want to stay at a hotel "right across the street" from disneyland and end up driving to the parking garage, taking the tram, etc.
