I am staying here in one week YAY! I have a couple questions. I have stayed here before but it has been at least 5 years.

Last time I stayed here the beds were horrible (hard/uncomfortable). Have they upgraded the beds? I have heard they may have and I am hoping. I am debating buy a cheap egg crate mattress. I am only here for 3 nights but it the beds are still hard & uncomfortable it would be worth it.

What is offered at the Breakfast at Desert Inn & Suites? What are the hours it is offered? I am assuming your basic cereal, fruit & some type of muffin/pastry. Is this correct? Do they offer anything else?

I stayed last year in March (staying again in Sept), and found the beds comfortable, maybe not fabulous, but comfy. I liked the linens; they seemed to have upgraded to a nicer hotel-quality linens. It was very clean and the maid service was prompt and thorough.

The breakfast is basic. I believe they open at 7 a.m., probably till 9? You could call the lobby and ask. They have the usual continental stuff, cereal, pastry, fruit, yogurt, plus hard boiled eggs, go figure. Some think that's weird but I like the protein option.

I really liked it; they were very nice at the front desk when I arrived; and upgraded me to a parlor suite, near the front of the hotel, for FREE when I called ahead and politely requested it. Also, I was just so happy with the closeness. The crosswalk is right there!

We love it here. The beds were comfy for us too (I actually had a slipped disc one of our trips too). They were clean and the maids did a great job. We've stayed twice and will be staying again next year. My only complaint is the maid carts taking up the walkway..if you have a stroller and are on an upper level it blows. Also the elevators are hella slow (we walked the stroller down LOL)

The breakfast is like what the previous poster said. We stuck to pastries and fruit and booked it to the parks. By the last day we were sick of it so we bought mcdonalds, but otherwise it filled the void :)

We will be staying there in November! Woo hoo!
Been a few years since we have stayed there but if I remember correctly, all of the rooms have a fridge and micro...we usually buy Jimmy Dean microwave sandwiches, cereal, bagels and cream cheese...etc and just make our own breakfast in the room.
Hope you have a wonderful trip!

Yep the fridges are a bit bigger than those tiny ones, but not a ton bigger so think small! But we loved having fresh stuff in the room after a hot sweaty day. Grapes/carrots/etc

We were in a parlor suite in February 2015 and found the bed and pillows to be pretty uncomfortable. I think it must depend on the room because other people talk of comfortable beds. Ours was very hard and kind of lumpy.

That is what I am afraid of. Maybe I the past year they have changed them.

Please report back and tell us what you think. I am also considering ordering a foam topper.

Which type of room are you staying in?

I think I'm the odd one out here. We stayed there last time for 2 nights before moving to the DLH. Picked because of the reviews it gets here. We didn't like it at all. Much preferred the BWPPI. Our beds were concave. And the breakfast room was horribly small and we weren't even there at a busy time. And on checkout, it took us 45 mins to get the van. Then they had a bunch of cars sitting there so we couldn't get out for another 10-15 mins. It was horrible.

Is there a coffee maker? We check in next week, and it would be nice to have coffee in the morning.

Yeah we used the trays and took the food to our room to eat. Usually sent the hubster while the kidlets got dressed. I hate eating in those places anyway LOL

We had an AWESOME experience with the parking. The guys were quick and helpful when we went. I'm sorry it sucked for you. That'd be awful.

We've stayed twice and had a good experience both times. However the breakfast room, though remodeled and expanded several years back, is small. And parking can be a pain. Our first visit they let us self park underground. Our second visit they said underground parking was valet only, we were lucky enough to find a spot near a staircase on the main lot. The pool and hot tub are inside and they do have a firework viewing deck.

We didn't have the option for self park. :( and yeah, it did suck, we were trying to transfer to the DLH!
