Can you see the fireworks from any specific rooms? Or do you need to go the the viewing balacony or whatever it is they offer?

We stayed there last year and couldn't see it from our room, my sister and her family had a suite and had a small window that still didn't allow you to see much. The viewing balcony is okay but definitely nothing like being in the park. We watched them from the balcony on Sunday .....I didn't understand what the big deal about the firework show was.....but that was BEFORE seeing them in the park the following friday night. From the balcony you can't hear the music, you can barely hear the fireworks. It will do...but it's not like the hub! Have fun!

We have stayed there 7 times and generally end up on the 3rd floor about midway back from Harbor. While you can see some out the windows, MommyWithDreams, is right you can't get the whole feel. For several years this worked great for us because a little was all we needed since my DD was afraid of the noise.

Personally for our group, fireworks are optional. My kids don't really enjoy them that much so we might watch them once in the park and any other time during our stay, catching that small glimpse out the window.

We did watch the view from the roof one time. It was a better view but there were not many chairs so we had to stand the whole time. If you don't mind missing the crowd and music it works okay. But, of course, nothing is quite like being in the park.

Are fireworks every night? DS MIGHT make it until 9pm on Thursday.....I was just looking for options if we HAD to leave due to crankiness.

We stayed at the Desert Inn & Suites from Dec 9-14th & could see the fireworks from laying in our bed every night. We had a suite (3rd floor), almost to the end & the 1st night there we could hear them & looked out - out bed was positioned perfect, but our adjoining room of the suite could barely see due to the position of the room (opposite ours) and a part of the bathroom that stuck out & in their way.

So, yes, you can see them from Desert Inn & Suites - if you have a room facing the right way, etc. But I couldn't even tell you our room # to help. I know it was the 3rd floor, I think it was #315,#316 or #317. Because I remember there not being a #313 everytime we passed - it went from #312 - #314. Hope that helps.

:)
