Desert Inn or La Quinta

We are a family of 6 so finding an affordable room for all of us can be a bit of a pain.

I currently have both booked. I love the location of Desert Inn but it is $150 more for 4 nights than La Quinta. That's our sundae and dole whip money! Or Mickey ears for everyone. Is La Quinta that bad of a walk?

Any other places I should consider?

Thanks!

La Quinta is about a 10-15 min walk. Pretty easy. Except when you are trying to get back to the room after park storming. It is also a $5+tip taxi ride from the Harbor side taxi area.

When you put it that way (churros vs location) it is a tough call! I would go for location and split the churros (they are pretty big) but not the Dole Whip, that one is all mine ;)

I'm biased. I prefer La Quinta because it's the chain I have status with. And I have status with them because I stay there too much with my cat.

But seriously speaking, I love the Anaheim location. It's a very easy walk for me and I'll go back and forth at least a couple times a day to check on Riley. $150 savings would be worth it to me to stay there too. The parking situation doesn't thrill me (paid which is par for the course with hotels nearby now and last I went required valet but without any extra charge for it), but it's a small compromise for being in walking distance.

There is an ART pick up nearby. I've never used it from there, but I might try it out over Tink race weekend if runners get free access again.

That is something to be aware of, though. They are a very pet friendly hotel. No pet fees and accept most pets (their pet policy is not a dogs only policy in disguise). The Anaheim location to my knowledge does not restrict any floors to bring pet only (some La Quintas will only allow pets in certain rooms and/or floors). So that's something to keep in mind if you have allergies.

My friend that travels with me and seems to be allergic to all cats but mine never has an issue, though. But not a lot of people travel with their cats like I do :rotfl2:

I have stayed at DI&S and the walk really can't be beat! But I do have to say we had friends staying at La Quinta and they customer service they received there from the manager was absolutely above and beyond the normal. Based on that alone I'd be willing to give them a try.

We always stay at la Quinta when staying in Anaheim. It's a great hotel! Good enough breakfast to get you through the morning park hours is a plus!

I found a cheaper room at Eden Roc Inn. A savings of another $125 over 4 nights. No breakfast though. The walk seems daunting though since you can't walk through DCG any longer.
