Hi all, I am a newbie planning my first trip as an adult to DL with my family. I frequented the WDW resort when I was younger and even was on the College Program.

Anywho, haven't been to DL since a whirlwind day trip in '85 or '86. I have been reading on here about the Desert Inn and Suites, and it sounds like a great place, perfect for us with the grandparents and 2 kids. My question is, how do I get a discounted rate? When I pull up the site it quotes $219 without a AAA discount. And when I called they gave me a quote of $219 and they said that is with the AAA discount. Am I missing something? Help me save $$$ on the hotel, so I can overrun my house with Disney items again!!! :)

It really depends on when you are going and if they still have rooms available. Did you try someplace like Expedia? I just got a room at the Menage for $67 per night but when you call them it is over $200. You just need to keep plugging away at hotels.
Good Luck

We just booked Jan 21 and 22 at the Desert Inn directly from thir website. It was $79/ a night for a Parlor Suite A. This was the cheapest rate we could find for that room even after looking at Travelocity and Expedia. $219 sounds high...maybe that is for a peak time?

When are you going? That may be the best rate for when you are going. I booked a C-1 for $109 but I'm not going until September. If I tried to go on a dime during a busy time it would be more. Try Castle Inn or Anaheim Plaza. They are within walking distance but their rates for larger rooms seem better.

i have my rooms booked for under 100 night on two trips, 219 is way over what id pay there. I would call if i were you

Oh, I would love to pay only $100 a night.

Forgot to add that there will be 4 adults and 2 children. We are traveling March 24-29......which apparently is spring break...doh!:scared:

I am drawing a blank, any other search engines besides expedia??

Thanx again and keep the tips coming they are definitely helping!
