Describe Your Taste in Music

Ditty Bops and Bob Dylan are more AC than country.

iiiiii don't know what AC is, but I'm sure you're right. :upsidedow

and caitlin, im excited theres another ditty bops fan on dis! I get what you mean, and I totally agree. I loooove old-timey 40's and 50's music like the andrews sisters and the rat pack. The Ditty Bops really capture the harmony and bouncyness.:thumbsup2

Oh I also forgot I like some Jack Johnson(sitting, waiting, wishing ; banana pancakes ; etc)I could actually play those 2. Also Cat Stevens

Wow, I didn't know there was anyone else here who listened to the Ditty Bops.

annnnd I noticed the Pipettes in yo sig. I love theemm.
They're so cute. :cutie:

My taste in music is varied. I like pop, hip hop, rock, country, electronic, dance, and classical.
Honestly, I like anything with a good background. I could care less about the words (although if the song does have good words it gets extra points in my book), but I really love the background music with all the different instruments.

Jack Johnson, John Mayer and Rex Goudie are my .. easy listening artists. The quiet acoustic type of stuff I love.

Hedley and Simple Plan (lol I know), is my louder stuff.

Most of my older stuff is Billy Joel or Supertramp.

My country... that's all over th eplace. Taylor is basically the only country artist I have more than one song by.

And right now I've got some Hilary Duff playing xD Reach Out, pretty dirty, but SO catchy.

I still think that you should give Last Call a shot....:p

No Billy!
Lol, I've been listening to it for months and it makes me feel gross when I hear it.
There's actually I think, no songs ont he radio that I currently like right now as far as country goes.

Didn't you like More Like Her by Miranda Lambert? I don't remember if you said you did or not...

It's okay, I haven't heard it more than twice.
I'll give it more of a try tomorrow as I'll be home all day.

I have the strangest tastes in music...

I grew up on Soft Rock (Mom's Fav) and Country (Dad's Fav) but when Phantom of the Opera came out, I COMPLETELY fell in love with Broadway!

Some of my favorites are, Beauty and the Beast, RENT (I'm absolutely in LOVE with Adam Pascal), The Little Mermaid, Young Frankenstein, The Lion King, Spamalot, and my latest obsession, Mamma Mia!

^to list only a few

I <3 music!!!!

Anything that speaks to me.

Specifically soundtrack music.
Gladiator, Narnia, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Carribean, you name it.
It tells a story with music. Battles, sadness, happiness, excitment. Anything.
It really gets my creativity in sync when I'm listening to it. It can remind me of something from the movie or relate to my daily life, depending. I think it's my favorite.
Especially Now we are Free by Hans Zimmer. Probably one of the most gorgeous songs I have ever heard in my life.

Broadway, for obvious reasons of story telling. If you're into the story, you'll appreciate it.

Other than that I don't really have a type. Most of the songs I listen to, the lyrics always play a part. I don't really get music for the beat. If I like the lyrics, I usually like the song. Of course I do like a good beat now and then even if I'm not so much into the lyrics. I also love different language music.
Carbon Leaf, John Legend, The Fray, Regina Spektor, Imogen Heap, Utada Hikaru, Five for Fighting, Rob Thomas, Michael Buble, the postal service and John Barrowman.
I have a very wide range. Oh, and natural sounds like rain, ocean, and things.

I also adore exotic music, like african tribal stuff. And inspirational things.
Like King of Pride Rock from The Lion King has such a power in it, and makes me feel great.

if you go through my itunes playlist, its all alternative.
i used to be really into 80's music. lol.
im not much into it any more though.
if somethings rap or hip hop, i autimaticly hate it.
but there is a lot of bands i like. too many to name.

Firstly, Soft rock. The 'meat' of the music I listen is soft, folk-rock type singers and songs. Tracy Chapman, Paul Simon, Gordon Lightfoot, etc., all that gentle, guitar-strumming and awesome vocals stuff. And then it moves into slightly harder territory with regular rock; The Police, Janis Joplin, random Eighties rock, Evanescence (though they can kinda slide between the softer and harder side of things, really, depending on the song), and classic rock ( I know NO names from those eras except for a few obvious ones [Queen; The Eagles; CCR; the ones everybody knows] but I love listening to the songs.

Classical I like a lot, even if it's mostly the fun, lighthearted stuff like Mozart and Strauss. And same as with classic rock, most of the time listening to classical on the radio I'm pretty clueless about what I'm listening to, as far as names and eras and even songs go (lol, thoguh I'll definitely be studying this more in the VERY NEAR FUTURE. Or at any rate, I'd damn well better. :faint:) but even without that, just listening to the music, being swept up into that emotion, those sounds and feelings-- that's just awesome. Classical is some wonderful kind of music.

And there's that music I just like for the nostalgic value... which for me means Nineties stuff. lol. All that music Radio Disney used to play when I was little and they were cool: BSB, Eiffel65, Christina and Britney, N*SYNC, and all that jazz. Those guys will always be all that to my mind, no matter hoe they actually suck. I also like oldies --the FM radio station-type oldies, mostly, but I do like some older stuff. Buddy Holly and those types-- and soundtracks, as long as the soundtracks are from something I already like. For instance, I *love* the Lion King soundtrack, and it's good music no matter what, but (oddly, compared to regular classical music) I have a feeling that I'd like it a whole lot less if there weren't any of the emotional associations with the movie itself. Same with the random Pokemon/video game tracks, but a lot of those I just listen to for the sound.

And there's other music that not's really much of anything. Well, it's something, obviously, but maybe just one or two songs from this genre, one from that artist, one from that game I've never even played. Songs like that are nice to have sprinkled in with all the normal stuff. Novelty songs are fun, and no matter what, Weird Al has to be there. So that little slice of eclectic...ness is nice to have around to spice up the bulk of what I listen to, which I generally love on it's own, but it's nice to have other kinds of music as interesting punctuation.

Wow, Ampris, you have a lot of music. From Bethoven to N*Sync...I haven't listened to my N*Sync CD in years.
