Hi all. I'm thinking of taking a long weekend trip to US at the end of Oct. My son is 6 and has just seen the movie E.T. - he loved it. So, I want to ride the E.T. ride with him. We have done IOA as a family, but not US (well my son hasn't). It's been about 8 yrs since I've been there, myself. Could you guys describe some of the newer rides? The website doesn't really do a good job of it. Thanks so much!!

Well...let's see:

At IOA...about the only new attraction I can think of is The High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride which is in Seuss Landing. It's a nice elevated tour of that island. The line can be pretty long but your son might enjoy it. :thumbsup2

Of course...the Wizarding World of Harry Potter opens sometime next year so they haven't been doing much to the rest of the park. :)

At the Studios...Earthquake was redone and the name changed to Disaster! It's a long pre-show with Christopher Walken but the ride is essentially the same. Revenge of the Mummy opened in 2004...RoTM is a roller coaster ride with a pre-show filled with special effects. The Simpsons opened last year in the old Back to the Future building. It's a simulator ride based on the show and characters. It's a lot of fun and the queue is very entertaining. Finally...The Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit coaster just opened last month. You will be able to see the track from the parking garage...it's that tall!

That's about all I can think of. Perhaps someone else will come along and add something I forgot.
:rolleyes1

I believe that Shrek opened since you were there. It's a "4D" film with plenty of things going on on both the screen and in the audience area. It has a cute preshow too.

Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast opened the same year and it's a simulator with Nickelodeon characters. It made me a little queasy but it doesn't seem to bother most people.

That the only other attractions that I can think of....
