Leadoff home run against Barry Zito to break out of his 0 for 32 batting slump. Way to go, Jete:bounce: :Pinkbounc :jumping3:

And, most importantly, the Yanks sweep the A's, beating the big three.

I am smiling tonight:teeth: :teeth:

How many games back are they from the BoSox now? ::yes::

heheheeeeeee.......Go Red Sox!

GO RED SOX :happy2: :cheer2:
Only 3 runs given up since Saturday! Thats 32 scoreless innings!

Go ASTROS! Clemens and Pettitte Rock!

Doesn't matter how far back they are now. Boston ALWAYS finds a way to lose it before the end of the season.

Remember Bucky Dent????

The Curse of the Bambino is forever!

Another happy Yankee fan here! It will only be a matter of time until those Yanks get back where they should be...it is about time though that DJ got back into it, I was getting so frustrated for him. It was awsome last nite when everyone was getting all into the game and Derek was up and everyone was backing him up...only in the Bronx....GO YANKS!!

Only Yankees Fans Believe in the Curse we just had idoit owners too long, now we have someone who owns the team that believes in more than making money they want to win. Every year new team, new season just look at the Yanks pitching staff hard to replace all those wins that walked out the door.

Remember Bucky Dent????

Ahhhhh.....the typical Yankee comeback *chuckles* Can't you guys EVER admit when we have an awesome team and are SERIOUSLY playing baseball better than the Yankees currently are ::yes:: Our bullpen and pitching staff is on FIREEEE...and this success we're having is without Nomahhhh and Trot Nixon...

It shall be a good season.....

On that we can all agree::yes:: I'm sure we will see you in the ALCS once again--on our way to Championship #27;)

And while we're talking baseball, congratulations to Andy Pettitte on his 150th career victory earned today against the Pirates.
Good job!

Haha New York fans, you're just wishing all those things. Red Sox know our time has come...for once your huge player salary won't buy you the world series.

Cowboy Up :smooth:

I heard the good news at the gym this morning. The Yanks may have to play catch-up for a while, but the GHOST will appear when they need him the most. :cheer2:

ah, TalkIsCheap, the optimism of youth. the Red Sox will choke. as they always do.

come July everyone will complain about Steinbrenner "buying" a new pitcher or two. but at least he knows how to get the job done.

OK. Several months ago, there was a thread started by a Red Sox fan which I, and several other Yankees fans posted in and we were basically told that we had no right to even look at the thread as it was directed to Red Sox fans only. By the way, the only thing I did on that thread was come out against another Yankees fan who started with the "Boston $ucks" stuff. I don't appreciate that from either side and I said so. Anyway, since that time, I've basically avoided threads started by Red Sox fans. (I've read them, had my private laugh, and didn't post anything.)

Well, last night, I was feeling particularly good for Derek Jeter in that he'd come out of his hitting slump in grand style so I posted this news which would certainly be of interest to Yankees fans. Instead we end up with another pi$$ing contest between Yankees and Red Sox fans.

Sox fans, if you want to bash the Yankees and their fans, there are any number of fan forums out there (SOSH, Red Sox Nation, Royal Rooters, etc.) where you can do just that. The Red Sox have a good team this year and the Yankees have a good team this year. It should be a great season for baseball and the CB here on the Dis should be one place where we fans can peacefully co-exist.

What do you think? Truce? We stay in our threads and you stay in yours.

OK, go ahead, flame away.:duck: :duck:

"get the job done" still chuckling over that one...but I'll keep out of the yankee threads...posting that is. I'll still read them and laugh, but I won't post!! ::yes::

and come October, we'll see who has the last laugh.

nothing succeeds like success. how many pennants do we have in the Bronx since George took over the team?

how many pennant do they have up in boston anyhow? hmmm....

I know you were being rhetorical, but am I right that the Yankees have 10 pennants since George took over the team? I count:
'76, '77, '78, '81, '96, '98, '99, '00, '01 and '03. Am I missing any? I think George took the reins in '73?

Oh, and if that's the time frame the Red Sox have 2 between '73 and '03.

Don't you mean nothing succeeds like spending your opponents in oblivion? Hey NY fans- how 'bout them Marlins!
