Simba's Mom said:For me, it's "Copacabana" by Barry Manilow. DS is a professional musician who plays it and always thought it was upbeat and jazzy til I made him listen to the words.
Wow, I never knew all the words either! I'm going to have to see if anyone ever did a sad sounding version. . .
one more... In your wildest dreams by the moody blues..
I don't mean to nit-pick but since I've seen it multiple times on the thread I have to point out that the song is just titled Angel
There is a Nickelback song that plays in the background of a video of a little boy who died in a car crash. I don't know the song, but when I hear it I know its the one because it makes me remember the video. Its very depressing![]()
I love that song but it makes me cry all the time. It's called Far Away.
Eta: the Nickleback song from the video, it's called Far Away. The video is advocating extended five point harnesses in children. I have my 65lb 48inch tall 5.5 year old in a five point harness that he can stay in until 85lbs.

I think it's more that the first time I heard that song was on that video so it makes me think of it and makes me sad. The video is about a little boy who was technically big enough to just be in a booster in the car but was killed in a car accident. Had he been in a 5pt harness he would not have sustained the injuries he did. His family no advocates the extended use of a 5 pt harness passed the legal ages/size requirements.
I personally find it depressing when a lot of people think a song is the opposite of what it is, like:
"Born in the USA" is not a patriotic song.
"Every Breath You Take" is about a stalker, not a love song
"I Will Always Love You" was commonly dedicated by SOs on the radio when it was popular after the Bodyguard, and I don't think they meant to be breaking up with their SOs.
"Saving All My Love for You" was a common wedding song in the 80s, it's about an affair.
What's up with Nickelback and depressing videos?? I haven't seen the "Far Away" video, but
I remember the one "Someday", the song is great but the video just freaks me out!
More from the 70s: Timothy, Diary, One Tin Soldier, Signs, Sunshine, and Sylvia's Mother.
