Depositing DVC Points into Into Interval International

Things have been so hectic at work this year that I missed banking my points. I have 55 points that will expire on August 31st this year. I am thinking that my only option is to deposit them into Interval International. How long will I have to use the points that I deposit into Interval International? I didn't really see anything available right now that meets where I want to go during the time that I can travel. I can't take a vacation during the school year since I am a teacher. What are the chances that more options will open up during a school holiday as the time gets closer? I usually use all of my points, so I am at a loss about how depositing in Interval International works...

If you didn't want to deal with II, you could also offer the points for sale at a reduced price via rental or transfer either yourself or thru a broker. I'm sure someone would take them for a good deal.

II will work better further out rather than closer in. Nature of that product

It is worth calling member services to see if they’ll bank late for you-some folks have received a one time courtesy on that.

I believe you'll have two years to use your points after you deposit them. As others have said, you'll have more success using them to book something farther out, even a year or more away.

I also suggest posting them to rent/transfer board. My daughter has to cut her Aulani reservation short by 1 day and I had 27 points returned to my account from that cancellation. They have to be used by August. I put it on the board and got rented in 1 day. It was also my first time renting out (I have rented a few times), just make sure you read the posting guidelines. My initial post was rejected because I did not follow the format..lol
