Deposit question

Hi! We are planning a trip for next January, and will do a split stay between CSR and AKL. We are a family of six, so we'll need 2 rooms in both places.

I was just curious as to what the deposit might be for this. I know for a package, it is a $200 deposit. We were going to try doing a room only ressie and then get our tickets at a discounted place. If we did that, is it the standard one room deposit? Does anyone know if that is a one room deposit on each of the rooms and at each resort? If so, that's a pretty hefty deposit, and it may end up being easier to just pay a little extra to go with a package and do one deposit.

Thanks for any thoughts. We are waiting until the '09 prices come out before bothering a TA to make the reservations. I'm not sure if I can even officially book with only the '08 prices out.

From what I understand, it would be 2 deposits because it's 2 different reservations. Also I think you are able to do a room only reservation now for 09, but when the new prices come out, your reservation price will be adjusted including the 1 night room rate deposit that you paid.

I don't *think* you can do 1 package with 2 different resort stays. You would still need to book 2 reservations, which would still be 2 deposits. I may be wrong on this though.

Yes, you will need two reservations, but you shouldn't need four (one for each room). You would just need one for each resort (I believe). Also, if you are doing room only ressies, then the deposit would just be one night's stay in each resort.

You will need a deposit for each room that you are booking. So if you are booking 2 rooms at two resorts that would be a total of 4 deposits.

If you are booking a package with 2 rooms then each room would require $200.

Yes - I had to put down $400 total for our stays!
