Hi.
I am contemplating reserving a Basic Plan package for 6 nights at a moderate using the new DC rate for Aug. Just wondering how the $$ works with WDTC since I've always dealt with CRO. We will have 2 rooms (separate parties) on 1 ressie, so paying at arrival would be best. But I thought I read we'd have to pay the package price sometime before arrival. Is that right? When? Also what deposit do they require (when for this too)? And what if you cancel?
Would we be better off splitting the ressie and paying separately before we go? We're trying to allow as much time as possible to save the $$.
Thanks!

You have to pay a $100 deposit within 10 days & the balance 21 days prior to arrival.

I was told cancellation policy is the same: 5 days prior to arrival.

Thanks DisneyLisa, but I just found this at Dreams Unlimited . . .I'm confused . . . does being a DC member shorten the deadline to pay to 21 days out instead of 45?
"Packages require a $200 deposit at time of booking. Payment in full is due 45 days prior to the arrival date. Packages can be cancelled 45 or more days from arrival without penalty, a full refund of any monies paid will be issued. Cancellations from 44 days to 6 days before arrival, a $100 charge is assessed by Disney. Cancellations received less than 5 days prior to arrival will lose the whole $200 deposit. For packages with air; cancellation after the final payment has been made will result in a $75 per person charge. Disney also claims the right to charge a change fee of $75 once documents have been issued after final payment has been made. This change fee applies to any and all changes made to the reservation, including the party size, resort, package or air arrangements.
*Note: The policies for packages booked under a Disney Club discount differ slightly - ask your Dreams Unlimited Travel Consultant for details."
Can someone clarify if this is current and if it's a DC package, what would be different?
THANKS!

I just changed my reservation from AP rates to DC rates & went over everything with them. It is as I stated earlier but if you cancel within 5 days you lose your initial $100 deposit.

This is what I was told...I hope it's right.

By the way, my $100 deposit is due: April 12th (but I paid it today) & the balance is due June 20th (we arrive July 11th)....these are the dates I was given upon completion of my reservations.

Hope this helps.

I bought a package with my DC discount in November, it had to be paid 21 days prior.

BlueFairy, the policy that you see relates to NON Disney Club packages. That is Disney's standard package policy. :)

For Disney Club packages, a $100 deposit is due within 10 days of booking and final payment is due 21 days in advance. If you have AIR added then final payment is due the regular 45 days in advance.

You can cancel anytime up to five days prior to your arrival date without penalty with the Disney Club Basic Plan only.

Thanks everyone . . .
I booked with Dreams Unlimited today. First WDW quoted $844 at a mod for 6 nights (with a DC discount). Thank goodness for these boards and Beth at DU. She called back to check and there was a mistake. Its 6 nights for $626. Thanks Beth if you're out there!
Anyway, it did say that ours is the $100/21 day policy. Another benefit of DC!!! Thanks again to everyone who responded.

Hi: I have two reservations for this april, one thru disney club, that I had to pay in full 30 days before arrival, and a fee to make any changes after I paid in full. My hubby still doesn't know what day he will start his holidays and we are driving for two days to get there, I don't think this is fair, for being in the disney club you should get better treatment than them saying now if you change anything after you pay is off we will charge you.

I also am doing a split and have another res. with a code from mousesavers that did not require dc card, and i just pay the first night deposit, have 5 days to cancel, and I am required to pay the whole thing at the end of our stay.
So I don't understand how I am getting ahead by first purchasing the dc card, and having to pay upfront my whole vacation before it even begins, but with the code my days are more flexible, and i can make changes if needed pertaining to when we can leave up until 6 days ahead if I have to with no penality.

I will not be getting another dc card after this one expires, and I will write to them and tell them exactly why.
They have put us in a bind, cause I'm not sure within a day or two when we can leave.

Deb.
