There are two cheap flights available for either 0640 or 1200. I really really want to get there super early (the 0640 arrives at 1145) but the 1200 flight arrives at 1609.

My thought is... our wedding reception ends at 11pm the night before. it's going to be such a long day (our ceremony's at 1130am so i'm sure i will be up at 5am). I'm thinking it will be worth the sleep... the only thing is i always pick the earliest flight I can because I LOVE disney and I hate to miss a minute.

I don't know which one I should choose, my fiancee doesn't really mind either, he's a morning person and we'll be staying at the airport hotel (our reception looks out over the airport runways).

What do you all think? What time did you guys leave the morning after your reception?

Nobody has any words of wisdom? That it's better to sleep in? Or it's better to get an early flight?

I would say sleep in! I know that it is really exicting to get to Disney early, but if you are too tired to enjoy it what's the point?
Can you pick a later flight the day you come back so you can have more time?

I LOVE WDW too but I think its better to have a good experience than just to be there early.

I promised DF that we would take it slow on our disneymoon. I like to park hop and see everything but after the big hooplah I think it's better to take it slow and enjoy married life! HTH

We choose the later flight, but that was because it was at 8:30 as a opposed to 7:30. I personally wouldn't leave that. We're just planning an early first night nothing too busy so if we want to go to bed early or just relax at the hotel we can.

We have a 6:30AM flight out the morning after our wedding. We figured we can sleep once we get there.

I'd chose the earlier flight too....I don't know about you, but I can never sleep the night before i travel anyway, so I'd lose sleep either way! :) Can always take a nap later! ::yes::

We are also flying out at 6:30 am. I am not thrilled about that since I am NOT a morning person. We get in around 8:30am. The only problem is that we are not going to be able to get in our rooms for quite some time but we had no choice since the men have to get their tuxes and try them on before 12pm. Of course you wouldn't have to worry about that since you are already married but if I had MY choice I would have picked a later flight.

The first week of our vacation is in Disney, the second week is in the Keys... It's a 7 hour drive to Key West so we will be driving and leaving the World around 9 or 10 AM. Not sure when exactly we're going to pick up our rental car. In fact I know NOTHING about rental cars so this should be interesting.

I know, I just want to escape the hotel that we'll be at after the wedding since all of our family and friends will also be staying there too, and if I'm not leaving early for Disney, I'll be at a lovely brunch. Which will be lovely, but I think I'll want some alone time with my FH.

True, with DVC I think it's after 4PM you get your room, but we'll be at BCV which means I can just get lots of drinks around the world :)

I really appreciate all your input.

haha i totally agree :)

I think I'll be booking the earlier flight. I'll letyou know what I go with. Thanks so much for all of your help!

Our reception is in the afternoon (our wedding is at 2). But we will be at the reception for proubally 3 to 4 hours and then we have to go home change clothes and grab our luggage, drive to Nashville, TN (2 1/2 hours) and spend the night there and then our flights leaves at 7:05am. The shuttle for us leaves the hotel at 5am that morning!!!:sad2:

wow what time do you land? that seems like a lot of work, no drinking at your wedding i guess!

We have a day between our wedding and honeymoon, but we're taking the early flight.

But my advice to you is to take the early flight!! You'll be too excited to sleep anyways!:goodvibes

Our reception also ends at 11pm, but we are going to take the earliest flight available which right now is one leaving at 8am, arriving at 12..I think?? maybe 10am. We figure once we get there and catch magical express (which i heard can sometimes have a decent wait), we'll get to our resort and check in. We're then going to make that a 'relax' day. Hopefully go to a water park (still waiting for hours to be posted tho so that's TBD) for a little bit, enjoy the scenery at the resort, maybe check out DTD, and catch a later dinner at Ohana and walk down to the beach to watch wishes.

As silly as it sounds, I know that catching a later flight will in no way benefit us when it comes to rest and relaxation. Even tho i'm sure I'll be exauhsted, I know I"m going to be like that kid in the old disney commercial who says, "I'm too excited to sleep!". That and I haven't flown in awhile and I'm going to be nervous about that.

take the earlier. sleep on the plane. get to disney sooner!

that was exactly our thinking! i would take a midnight flight out the night of our wedding if they had one! we know we're not going to be able to sleep anyway, might as well get there as soon as we can!
