Departure Morning Logistics- Bell Services

Quick question- this is our first time flying to WDW in several trips. On departure day our checkout is obviously 11am but our flight is 7pm, so I imagine DME will pick us up around 4pm. We have brunch reservations late in the morning at a different resort, and will be at brunch during check-out time. Can anyone confirm that we can have bell services pick up our bags in the morning (around 10) and hold them until we come back in the early afternoon? They would be holding our checked luggage for the flight as well as most of our carry ons.

We're staying at Coronado Springs, if that makes any difference.

Are you flying an airline that you can check your luggage at your resort? If so, you will want to take them to drop them off that morning before you go to brunch as they only accept up to noon, I believe. Then you could leave your carry-ons with bell service.

If you plan to check your bags at the airport, then youy plan should work.

We usually fly out on a Friday, which is usually an EMH at MK, so pretty early in the morning we bring all our stuff down, check out and hand everything to bell services to store until we come back to get picked up by our town car service. Very easy! Just remember that the night before you leave, A) you need to get all packed up, so you can just shower up and go in the morning, and B) get your boarding passes printed out at the front desk if you are doing that instead of using your phone.

In the past, this has been our "movie" night, and we usually watch a Disney movie at our resort room while we get ourselves all packed up! NOTE: we only have carry-ons so there is no checked baggage for us.

Thanks! We won't be out very late the night before, should be back to our room by 8:30 so I'll be sure to pack then.

Seems odd they only accept checked bags up til noon when they may have very late flights but I'll make a note to go ahead and check our bag at the airline counter.

depending on your airline, you can probably check your bags with the Airline luggage services desk (I don't remember exactly what it's called) ...your entire party needs to be there with their ids and they will take your luggage and put the flight tags on them and ship them off to the airport for you and you won't need to see them until you arrive at your home airport, and they will also check you in for your flights. Any carry on bags you have, you can drop at Bell servcies and pick them back up before you get on the Magical Express to go to the airport.

Per Disney's website, the airline check-in service is open 5AM-noon.

I suspect this is because a majority of folks are checking out during this time and they don't want to keep those desks staffed / run luggage trips to the airport 24/7.

Last year at the WL we checked our luggage for airline around 8 AM; they also took care of our carry on bags in the same area...different desks but close to one another. That was all there was to it until we returned to wait for the ME bus. Make sure you don't have anything in your checked bags you may need later because you will not be able to get to it. Once you check it in you won't be able to access it until you pick it up at your home airport. Really easy process ... I even did it all by myself on a solo trip in 2013 ! I LOVE this service...keeps the return flight stress free.
