Departure/Checking out

I haven't arrived yet, but just wondering how check out and departure works.
We're staying at OKW and flying with Virgin (early evening flight) with Disney shuttle bus transfer.

Is it best to check out and leave cases at hotel or do the down town disney check in? How do we know what time bus to catch?

Can we use the pool and facilities until we leave?

The day before you leave they will put a Magical Express envelope on your room door handle. Inside will be your departure details. When you check out, if you are not doing the DTD check in (which we don't), you can leave your luggage with Bell Services. They store it for you and you have access to it any time you want.

We used the pool until it was nearly time to leave, went and used the showers, changed and then went to pack our swimming things into our luggage afterwards. You can use the pool, fill up your resort mugs with sodas and enjoy the resort. We used our last credits on the DDP for a late lunch too before we went.

I hate getting that notice on the door just makes me knowing that our trip is almost over.

We normally put our cases to Bell services and make the most of our last time in the parks. Plus any last minute purchses can be put into our cases if needed.
So we get up early and plan to have maybe a couple of hours in one of the parks, head back to the resort about 2hours before the ME pick up time. Though last year we made it back with only half an hour to spare and it just made me panic.

Remember that you have to be back in time for the bus you have been allocated otherwise if you try and get a later ME you might not be allowed to get it and could result in needing to get a taxi to the airport. You willl need the time (normally around 3 or 4 hours before your flight time) as getting through security can be a nightmare.
