Deodorant

After our evening shower, DBF puts on deodorant to go to bed. I do not. Each of us thinks the other is odd. So, do you put deodorant on before going to bed (after taking your nightly shower)?

No, I wouldn't use deoderant because I don't think I'd be doing much sweating while I slept. I've never heard of anyone putting it on before bed.

Same here...I usually don't shower at night unless I've been working in the yard or something.

I use Secret Clinical and you are supposed to put that on at night. I always forget though, and use it in the morning...UNLESS I've worked out, and take a shower at night. Then I put it on at night. It actually does work better when you put it on at night!

It would be rare for me to take a shower at night, but if I did, I would not apply deodorant at that time. I'd apply in the morning before getting dressed for the day.

That's so funny that you brought this up. My husband and I talked about this while watching "Paranormal Activity." There is a scene in there where the female lead puts on deoderant before going to bed. I've never seen anyone do this before.

Same. And if I left the house the following morning after showering the night before, I'd put on another coat just to be safe.

It never occurred to me do so because, like a previous poster, I'd just reapply in the morning anyway. Besides, I've heard that there is carry-over effect from deodorant. In other words, even if you wash it all off in the shower, you'd still have some protection the following day. I've never actually tested out that theory, though.

Me too. I shower in the morning before going out to meet people. Somehow, I think a shower wears off by morning (or afternoon), if I showered the night before.

I put on my deodorant whenever I am getting dressed, it's with my makeup and contacts. I don't use it after my shower because I'm just going to bed and if I sweat there, I'll need to retake my shower anyway.

DH, on the other hand, puts on deodorant like 5 times a day. He's terrified of having BO.

I find it interesting that so many people shower at night. Most of my friends think we're weird that we shower at night instead of the morning.

I do shower the next morning and deodorize at that time but I don't see a need to put in on just to sleep especially when I'm going to be getting up in 7 hours to shower again.

I do like that when I snuggle up to him at night his pits smell good. lol

Really? I didn't know that, but I'm the same way. DH does put it on and I find that very odd!!!

I don't use deodorant every day. If I'm going to put it on, I do it after I shower no matter when I take that shower. I don't use regular deodorant either. I use a stone. Trying to avoid aluminum. The purpose of regular deodorant is to stop bacterial smells, right? Then why wouldn't one put it on right after washing? odd thing to think about. hmmm

To be honest I didn't always do that, but I found I didn't like the "I should have put deodorant on" smell I had in the morning. I think I actually sweat more in my sleep.

I usually shower in the morning, but on the unusual day that I take one at night, I still don't put deodorant on. Only in the morning. I'm also like the OP that said they feel the shower wears off while you sleep.
My DH showers at night and puts deodorant on. I always thought he was strange for doing that.
