Hi all, anyone from Denver? Im going for medical reasons, but thaught I would ask if there is anything I shouldnt miss while there. We will be in the downtown area. I was told to go shopping in Cherry Creek and we will do sight seeing. I saw there was an aquarium with a resturaunt. Is it anything like coral reef? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

The Downtown Acquarium is very nice. Most of the acquarium is separate from the restaurant, but the restaurant does have seating (I don't think all of it, though) adjacent to some of the huge tanks, so you can watch the fishes while you eat. You can go to just the acquarium, just the restaurant, or both.

There's also the Denver Mint, which I think is open for tours again after being closed for a time after 9/11.

The Molly Brown House is interesting to see.

If you're downtown, you'll probably see the 16th Street Mall, which is a street that's been closed off to cars, except for the free mall shuttle buses, that you can jump on and off as you like. It's got a lot of tacky souvenier shops, but also some nicer retailers and lots of bars and restaurants.

If you like baseball and are there during the season, catch a game at Coors Field. It's an awesome stadium and I think they give tours, too.

There's a railroad museum that's supposed to be really good if you're into that, and also a doll museum. If you have a car and don't mind a drive, you can go to the Coors Brewery and get a tour there, or go to Red Rocks (a name you might recognize if you're a U2 fan). It's a beautiful natural amphitheater, and there are some nice little hiking trails around it.

I don't know if I'd call anything in Denver a "can't miss". There are a lot of different things to do, based on your own personal interests. Of course, the mountains are great, either for skiing in the winter or hiking in the summer, but since you are going for medical reasons, I'm not sure if you'll be able to do much physical activity or have a chance to go up for the day.

If you have any more questions, or if there's anything specific you're looking for, let me know. I hope the medical part of your visit goes well. pixiedust:
