I'm having some cosmetic orthodontist treatment at home, which is very expensive.

Last time I had an appointment I asked if I could make my next two appointments so that I could make sure I got an appointment before I went back to college which is a whole day's drive away.

They said 'yes', but couldn't find their 2006 diary, so said not to worry, there would be plenty of appointments available for before I went back to university, I could make one after my December appointment.

So I've just been for my December appointment and what a surprise, NO JANUARY appointments available. Only february, which means I'll have to drive all the way back from college.

I'm so mad because I started this treatment in June and they promised I'd be done by October before I went back to college. Not only do I still have the braces, but I can't get an appointment for two months! I wouldn't mind I hadn't tried to make an appointment for January back in November, only to be told there was no need to book it so early!

Would you complain? I should have complained while I was there but of course I only thought of this once I got home!

Oh, yes, complain loudly and often. You tried to schedule this expensive treatment and they had a glitch....You were very put out.

Point it out to them as often as you can.

Most especially before they fiddle with the painful hardware inside your mouth. In fact, for our sake, could you inquire if your fingers can get involved in the pain for a day or two?

I would complain and have them work you in before you went back to college. They dentist I go to now is more than willing to rearrange all sorts of schedules to help the patients.

Nope, because there are a lot worse things that can happen in life than having to wait a couple of months for an appointment or (gasp!) having to drive from college. :rolleyes1

Ask them if they can put you on a list for a last minute appointment in case of a cancellation.

It won't really do you any good to make a big stink about it.

The same thing happened to me with my girls' pediatrician appointments. They are supposed to be in early fall, but now we are on a spring cycle because of scheduling issues.

Miaow.
Can I get you a saucer of milk? Maybe one for your normal identity as well?

Complaining won't help unfortunately. They've heard it before, so it goes in one ear and out the other. And braces never come off when they say they will.

Sorry you are having to deal with this.
