Democrats Launch a Petition Against Rush

Uhh...she didn't:confused3

I meant, why should the President even worry about Rush? Or is it that what Rush says rings (mostly) true with a fairly significant % of Americans and Mr. Obama knows that?

I stated and restated my opinion on that in previous threads.

I think Rush was right. The President is trying to get people to say, "We aren't doing what Rush says!" Trying to get people to say that Rush is a wackadoodle, that the idea of not spending lots more money when you're already deep in debt is just lunacy.

But, it isn't. And Rush isn't a nutjob. Rush is right.

Stop spending. Leave the business alone. Prosper.

I think they could just listen to Rush and do what he says and the country would be a LOT better off than it is with those Washington boys.

CB, as usual, you are spot on.

Well in my opinion Rush is an arraogant, loud mouth, hypocritical, lying, egomaniac. And I bet I can find lots of people to agree with me.

Does that make me right? I guess so.

And remember-it is totally my right to say that.::yes::

I think he meant why would Obama bring it up if he wasn't running scared from Rush.

Obama wasn't speaking to Rush. He was simply advising the party to make their decisions based on what they thought was best for the country, not on just on whatever Rush was blasting out of his overbloated ego for them to do.

If President Obama really did mention Fox News to the Republicans in the House today (yesterday?) as I've seen reported then perhaps he is overplaying that hand a bit.

BTW, that list that keeps popping up of things Rush has said on the air - is there a citation than isn't in a blog? There are a couple of those that I seriously doubt that even Rush actually said (even out of context). Don't know, could be wrong. But if they only appear in a blog they have the ring of exaggeration.

hi lisa:

it is absolutely your right to say that. i might even agree with this assessment at times; rush goes overboard, but to me it is in the spirit of being deliberately outrageous in an attempt to get people to listen. lenny bruce was that way, howard stern is that way. people pay attention because of the over-the-top personality.

but i don't think it is rush's personality that caused bho to mention him. in the same way bho mentioned hannity before the election. i don't think what they say bothers him. i think it is that, with the mere inference that these guys are not worth listening to, the general public will agree and spread the rhetoric. whether or not people have actually LISTENED to these guys, they will feel perfectly comfortable...even consider it their mission...to spread the rhetoric which denounces them. as in many things, it makes people feel a part of something, and i think bho and his advisors realize it and intend to use it to their advantage.

He may be all of those things, but he's right, too.

No.
I guess so.
Guess again.

You'll never find me telling anyone they don't have the right to say anything. (Okay, except the kids. There are things THEY don't have the right to say. But that's because I'm the Grand Supreme Ruler of Their Universe.)

See? This guy's got one heck of a fat freaking head!

Hi Wonder,

I personally feel President Obama is playing Rush like a cheap fiddle. And used him to be the bad guy for ideals he does not like in certain Republican Senators and Congressmen/women. But again that's all just speculation-like everything else on this thread. :confused3
