I hope this is not a ridiculous questions, but...

I remember back when we had KTTW cards, I once put it in my pocket with my cell phone, and it demagnetized. I had to go to guest services to have the card fixed.

My son is going on a trip with his choir, and I believe they'll be given plastic tickets. He wants to put his phone and ticket in a waterproof lanyard pouch. Will his phone affect the ticket?

"Magnetism" is no longer a useful property of WDW tickets.

The other thing to know is that cell phones don't affect card magnetic stripes, anyway.

Oh, my! That was the reason I was given for my card not working that day... and I have believed it for 7 years! :crazy2:

Thank you for the help. I do feel foolish now!

Please don't feel foolish.

FWIW, I just spent two weeks in a hotel that has magnetic strip key cards. They provided a sleeve and recommended folks keep it away from their cell phones, because they can cause the key card to no longer work.

I don't know if its a myth or urban legend, but companies are telling folks to keep their key cards away from cell phones. I did, and didn't have any problems.
