Deluxe vs. DVC (renting points)

Thank you! I've been struggling with having 5 people cram into a Deluxe resort. The cabins at Fort Wilderness don't appeal to me (my husband doesn't like to sleep in a double bed), and it is too expensive for us to book 2 deluxe rooms. :goodvibes

DVC resorts only sleep 4 in a studio. Five in a one bedroom, but they will not supply bedding (i.e. no cot, no sheets) for the fifth. You'd be best in a two bedroom, but that isn't going to save you any money over two connecting rooms at a moderate or value.

Thank you all for the responses. I do have someone willing to rent points to me for $11.00 per point. Now I just have to get the nerve up to do it. Thanks again.

That's great! You'll love the 2 bedroom villa. Were are you thinking of staying?

The most important thing with renting is that you feel comfortable with the person you are dealing with. A contract is good in that it facilitates communication (...but if it is broken what are you going to do? Hire lawyers $$$ to go after $ ?) In the two years I've been on the boards, I have only heard of 1 or 2 cases where there was a problem. Most are just Members who have too many points for one reason or another and would like to recoup the costs.
