I have reserved a deluxe with 2 queen and a pull out sofa. After reading and reading the info on PBH I think if I were to request a room number 2663 would be a good one, right? If I understood it right this room is in the west wing which is close to the boat docks, and it overlooks the beach pool and also has a balcony. I'm getting really excited now....14 days to go!!

Hi I am not an expert of the layout at PBH but i think and agian not positive that the first number in a rm number is the bldg # ie: 2 is the Main bldg, the 2nd number is the flr and the last two numbers are the rm # even though the rm # will be 2663 on the door

We had rm 2474 - it was a deluxe rm w/2 queen beds it was almost at the end of this Main bldg next to the west wing on the 4th flr and our rm did face the Villa pool.

you are correct:

rm 1729 is:

tower 1
floor 7
room 29

but your "room number" will be 1729 (it's just how it breaks down to find the room easier)

Just to let you know- we had room 2663 and loved it but it did not have a sleeper sofa. It was a deluxe room with two queens and an over sized chair instead of the sofa. It was lcated in the villa wing. It was close to two elevators. One took you out to the bay area and one took you right out to the beach pool. It was a great location and we loved the full balcony. It was right over the pool area - top floor- a beautiful view. At night you could see the MK fireworks off the balcony.

Hey Bubba's mom, I am an idiot when it comes to posting pictures on the computer! About all I can do on the computer is shop and read messages!:rotfl2: When we are at Universal I use the handicam to shoot video and my husband takes the pictures. We have all the pictures on the computer but how do I get them from there to here??? We are leaving next friday for a two night stay at PB- we are in a ground floor deluxe room with villa pool view- I will take lots of pictures this time. Just need some help in how to post them.

By the way - we were there on the 29th for the day- and we passed you at IOA. I didn't want to intrude on your vacation but wanted to tell you that you look great in pictures but are even more beautiful in person.

HEY!!! Where did you see us?? You should have introduced yourself!!! It would have been fun to meet another DISer! :yay: I'm surprised you remember me ....with all the people walkin' around IOA that day.... The 29th was the DIS meet day (Day 4 of TR)....sorry we didn't get to meet....you should have popped in on the meet!

As far as posting pix, you have to upload them from your computer to an online hosting site (we use photobucket.com). Once you upload them there, just click on the IMG code, copy & paste it in your text....picture will appear in your post (:ssst: I'm computer stupid too....my DH helps me out a lot!)

Thanks for the help, Bubba's mom! I will try and see what happens with our pictures- my husband is the computer whiz in the family- maybe if I am nice he will help me with it! He also takes incredible pictures.
We were coming into IOA and you were headed the other way the day we saw you. It was pretty crowded and very hot but I noticed you from all your trip reports- I love reading your reports! I felt like I had spotted a celeberty:cool2: Next time I will say hello- I just didn't want you to think we were stalkers or something:rotfl2: After this next weeks trip we are returning for a combined father - son birthday trip in September- their birthdays are a week apart. We got our gold card in the mail last week and are trying hard to get to platnium before the year is over.

I'm sure your DH will help you post pix...what great husband wouldn't? :confused3 I look forward to your pix and TR!

:cool1: celebrity here...comin' thru....step aside please.... :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: but seriously, I was probably headed to the meet when you saw me...how funny!! You coulda came w/ me! Next time...... (and I wouldn't have thought you were a stalker....just pretty freakin' observant is all!)

Keep pluggin' those LF stays and go for the plat!!! (If you book AAA, let us know if it qualifies...rumor has it (from another DISer) they aren't going to count AAA toward "qualifying" rate :sad2: )...but I hope so.... Oddly enuf, we got our Gold card 3 weeks after checking out...I think it came last weekend :cool1: it was a happy day here that day! You will all have a great time for the birthday boys....tell everyone it's their birthday and embarrass the crap outta them! :yay:

Have a most excellent trip! :goodvibes

does anyone else know of a room that has two queens with a pull out sofa in that area? It just sounded like the perfect spot/room. Thanks for all your help.

buckeye......sorry to hijack your question  .......i would think if you tell them you want the 2 beds w/ pullout sofa AND west wing, you should get something good....i've never stayed at PBH, so, i'm not much help....i know damo has and alexandnessa have.....did you read the "sticky" at the top of the page?

We have stayed at PB four times now and have never gotten a sofa so I am not sure what rooms they are in??

Bubba's mom- Thanks for the birthday advice- I will be sure to embarrass them! We booked this weekend through Loews and they gave us AAA rate so I will let you know what happens. I will see if we get a sofa or not this time- We have had them at other resorts and I thought they were horribly uncomfortable- we usually bring an aerobed if we need extra sleeping space. The bathroom at PB is large enough to set up a queen aerobed in there!:rotfl2:

Maybe we'll just bring an airmattress too. That way just in case we don't get one with a pull out sofa he'll be somewhat comfy. Thanks for all of ya'lls help!

We have stayed at the Portofino several times. The last three visits have been in a 2 bedroom (1 king deluxe and 1 queen deluxe) Villa Suite. The king bedrooms had pull-out chairs that turned into twin beds. I don't recall if the queen bedrooms chairs pulled out or not as we did not even try to use them. But there was no sofa in either the queen or king bedrooms, just chairs. The only actual pull-out sofas were in the parlors of the suites.

I personally would never request a specific room, as it will more often than not lead to disappointment when the request is not filled. Rather, I agree with bubba's mom about making more general requests that gives the PBH a chance to fulfill it and maybe if you're lucky, exceed it.
