Deluxe Room Price Increases

As far as I know PORQ was closed. And you are right, the legendary years section never build until it became the art of animation. (The bridge over hour glass lake was originally refereed to as the Generation Gap Bridge)
I just couldn't remember that well. My first trip was in 2005 with my planning that started well in 2004. I hardly knew what resorts there was and how many they had at that time.

Yes, parts of AKL were closed. I stayed there in December 2001 and roughly half the rooms were closed down. I received an upgrade to concierge. The mansion section (magnolia bend) of POR was closed also.
Nice. I really had no idea about all of this.

This thread is about deluxe rooms, but value rooms (and presumably all rooms?) went up this week also. Pop Century rooms for our stay went up 5-7$ each

This virus stuff will all pass soon enough. The economy is booming. The markets are now a massively great buy. The hysteria is just nonsense. I could see if there was a threat of economic slowdown Disney would hurt. That’s not even on the horizon...

Interesting. We already booked, but when researching resorts for summer when they were first released, I thought people had said that the resort prices don't change (unless a promotion).

I'd been trying to book a value and a room at ASMo opened up, so I grabbed it (higher than I wanted but I figured a good starting point for a "last-minute" May trip).
Noticed this morning more ASMo inventory popped up with about a $5 increase. Then I noticed AoA, CSR and at least one of the other mods had gone up as well.

I noticed this too. I suspect that rather than markets, this has to do with the release of the new dining plan option. Disney knows a lot of people are going to rebook their room only stay as a ticketless package to get the new dining plan, and if they do so, their room rate will get upped to higher rates.

We booked Poly for May at the end of 2019 with a "special Return Guest" rate... a whopping 15%. When the "up to 25% off" discount was released, we re-priced the vac hoping for a better rate. The rates had inched up, offer was for only 10% off the Poly but our little 15% discount we did book was now actually 18% off those current rates. Bummed a truly magical discount was not around this year😞 We will most likely take a Disney break next year and hit the 50th toward the end of the celebration.

They didn’t used to. Disney used to set the rate for the following year in July. The rates would stay same for the whole year. I think it was just about 2 years ago that they started quietly raising rates during the year. No announcement, someone just notices that rates they have been looking at have changed.

Correct. The markets have nothing to do with this change.
